We are a mostly in-person startup, but we are also flexible – you can usually work from home when you need to and come in and leave when you want to. Many employees work from home on average 1 day a week.
Job Summary: We are seeking a talented and motivated Backend Engineer to join our development team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in server-side development, a passion for building robust and scalable backend systems, experience in cloud infra and a keen eye for performance optimization. You will work closely with frontend engineers, database administrators, and product managers to develop and maintain high-performance web applications. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, expertise in backend technologies, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain server-side logic, ensuring high performance and responsiveness.
Integrate user-facing elements developed by frontend engineers with server-side logic.
Implement data storage solutions and manage databases.
Build and maintain cloud infrastructure
Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
Collaborate with frontend engineers, product managers, and other team members to define and deliver new features.
Troubleshoot and debug applications to resolve any issues.
Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience) with at least 15 years of experience.
Strong proficiency in server-side programming languages (e.g., Python, Go)
Experience with database management systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB)
Knowledge of cloud services and infrastructure (e.g., GCP)
Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Passion for building robust and scalable backend systems
Knowledge of testing frameworks
Experience with performance optimization techniques.
