Role Summary:

The Staff Accountant will work on day-to-day accounting operations for a growing SaaS company. This role is well-suited for an entry to associate-level professional looking to build strong technical accounting experience in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.

About the Role:

  • Maintain accurate general ledger records and ensure timely recording of financial transactions.
  • Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
  • Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
  • Support preparation of internal financial reports and financial statements.
  • Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and fixed asset accounting.
  • Ensure adherence to accounting policies, internal controls, and procedures.
  • Support audit requests and provide documentation for internal and external audits.
  • Assist with tax filings and statutory reporting under Canadian requirements.
  • Perform ad-hoc accounting tasks and analysis as needed.

About You:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Accounting
  • 2–3 years of relevant accounting experience (co-op or internship experience considered).
  • Foundational understanding of accounting principles, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close processes.
  • Experience with accounting software or ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks).
  • Familiarity with subscription-based revenue, deferred revenue, and basic concepts such as ARR, MRR, and revenue recognition (ASC 606 exposure is a plus).
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel.

    Schedule:

    This is an office-based role with standard hours from Monday to Friday.
