Role Description: Lead Bank is seeking a talented Staff Accountant to support the Bank’s dynamic and growing Banking as a Service (BaaS) product finance function. This role will report to the Sr Accountant, Deposit Implementations, and will be a critical contributor to month end close, BaaS program implementation, data analytics, reconciliations, program reporting, and client relations with the Bank’s fintech partners. This role will require significant coordination and communication across departments and functions, including Corporate Accounting, Product, Compliance, Legal, and Engineering.


In this role you will:

  • Serve as a key member in completion of reconciliations, including month end close, as it relates to BaaS programs, primarily related to deposit programs.
  • Assist in new program implementations and enhancements, working with cross functional teams both internally and externally.
  • Assist in technical accounting research as it relates to BaaS programs.
  • Assist in the development and management of reporting, data validation, analysis and reconciliations related to general ledger accounts and BaaS programs.
  • Work cross-functionally to promote process improvements and efficiencies through streamlined data use cases and automatization.
  • Continuously improve financial processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Serve as primary backup for key tasks completed by other department team members, including duties related to lending and credit card programs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of accounting/finance experience 
  • Financial Service and/or Fintech experience
  • Experience working in a deadline-oriented, fast-paced environment 
  • Experience in team/project management, and comfortable working across functions to gather inputs and drive outcomes
  • Action-oriented, with strong organizational skills 
  • Curious and open to learning 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to effectively prioritize assignments and manage time/deadlines
  • Thrive working in a fluid environment with high autonomy
  • Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and a results-driven mindset
