The Everest Hybrid Solutions, a member of the Everest Group, Ltd. is looking for a Senior Underwriting Assistant to join our Toronto Reinsurance office.
The Senior Underwriting Assistant will be a team player within the Hybrid Solutions department working closely with the Underwriters. The Senior Underwriting Assistant will perform tasks that directly supports the team. These front-end activities performed will aid in the life cycle of the renewal and new opportunities available.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Handle internal processing of Everest Hybrid business, including setting up EZFLOW files and coding into UWS systems.
- Develop and maintain positive business relationships with Hybrid clients including follow up with clients on monthly bordereau submissions due to Everest and verification of data to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Assist Underwriting team, discussing with MGA clients and actuarial modelling team to secure & review per location data to get into our Catapult system.
- Work with underwriting team on new and renewal opportunities and information and data requirements according to current underwriting approach and philosophy in a service-oriented environment.
- Seek to gain a full understanding of Everest corporate underwriting philosophies, Hybrid business authority and guidelines.
- Follow up on any outstanding file documentation as required.
- Aid in completing Monthly Reports.
- Special projects, including assistance with Marketing events, and other duties or responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications, Education & Experience:
- Minimum one to three years of progressive commercial underwriting experience.
- Enrolled and working towards completion of CIP (Charter Insurance Professional) designation.
- Experience in underwriting administration and support.
- Experience in the following lines of business:
- Commercial Property and Inland Marine.
- General Liability including Products Liability.
- Excess and/or Umbrella Liability.
Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:
- Strong oral and written communication, analytical and computer skills.
- Experience with SharePoint system.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel.
- Experience with insurance accounting and dealing with accounts discrepancies.
- Ability to maintain excellent relations with clients and provide superior service.
- Team oriented and ability to work effectively with peers.
- Strong prioritization skills to meet daily demand and deadlines to meet all service requirements.
