Job Overview
Applied Systems, Inc., a worldwide leader in insurance technology, is currently recruiting a Senior Software Engineer (AI Platfrom) to join our team.
In this role, you will work in an Agile team supporting the development of a suite of AI-based shared services. You will collaborate with members of the Engineering and Product Teams to deliver high quality technical solutions. You'll play a pivotal role in creating impactful enterprise-scale solutions to drive innovation and efficiency.
What You'll Do
- Collaborate with your team on development and testing to deliver new features
- Solve technical problems and mentor others by sharing technical knowledge
- Provide comprehensive feedback in design reviews and code reviews
- Assess the impact of changes to identify opportunities and risks
- Identify and implement improvements to increase productivity on the team
- Lead technical projects, share updates, and receive input from internal experts
- Author code aligned with internal standards for style, maintainability, and best practices. Advocate for alignment with standards through code review
- Collaborate with Application Architects to confirm technical solutions
- Contribute to documentation to support design discussions
What You'll Need to Succeed
- 5+ years of software engineering experience creating high quality and scalable enterprise software solutions
- 5+ years of experience contributing end-to-end through requirement phases, technical design, implementation, testing, production readiness, and operational support
- Experience with software languages such as Golang, python, shell-script, node/typescript, and/or terraform
- Experience with software frameworks such as Torch, gRPC, gRPC-gateway, Kubernetes, and Istio
- Experience with concepts such as DevOps, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Authentication, Authorization, TLS, Asynchronous Messaging, NoSQL/RDBMS
- Experience with off the shelf AI solutions such as OpenAI, Vertex AI, SageMaker, and/or Azure ML
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform, ArgoCD, GitLab/GitHub
- Knowledge of Agile frameworks, ideally Scrum, and tools like Jira and Confluence
- Ability to communicate in a team-oriented environment to clarify requirements and deliver solutions within committed timelines
- Ability to provide feedback on coding standards through code reviews
- Proven technical abilities, troubleshooting skills, and research abilities
- Self-motivated commitment to continuous learning
- Degree in Computer Science, MIS, or CIS, or equivalent work experience
