Position Title: Senior SAP S/4HANA PCE Operations & Integration Lead
Department: IT Applications
Location: Kitchener, Ontario or Dallas, TX
This position requires regular onsite/in-office attendance.
Position Summary
Sunshine Group is seeking an experienced SAP S/4HANA PCE Operations & Integration Lead to support the production operation, governance, and continuous improvement of the group SAP S/4HANA Private Cloud Edition landscape.
This is not a traditional infrastructure-heavy SAP Basis role. The SAP environment is hosted and managed through SAP S/4HANA PCE, so the successful candidate will focus on production monitoring, incident triage, transport and release coordination, SAP service-provider coordination, integration monitoring, and operational governance.
The ideal candidate has strong SAP Basis knowledge, practical experience supporting SAP production environments, hands-on exposure to SAP Transport Management, strong troubleshooting skills, and experience with SAP CPI / SAP Cloud Integration / SAP Integration Suite. SAP BTP experience is highly preferred, as Sunshine Group plans to expand and upgrade BTP capabilities over time.

Duties & Responsibilities

SAP S/4HANA PCE Production Operations & Governance

  • Support day-to-day production operations for the SAP S/4HANA Private Cloud Edition landscape serving Sunshine Group.
  • Monitor system availability, performance, capacity indicators, jobs, interfaces, RFCs, queues, dumps, spool, update processing, and overall system health.
  • Perform first-level SAP technical triage and coordinate escalation to SAP PCE, managed service providers, infrastructure teams, functional teams, and business stakeholders as needed.
  • Review and coordinate SAP maintenance windows, planned downtime, patching schedules, upgrades, service requests, incident tickets, and root-cause-analysis reports.

Production Incident Management & Troubleshooting

  • Troubleshoot SAP production issues using strong Basis knowledge and standard SAP monitoring tools and transactions.
  • Analyze common SAP technical issues including dumps, failed jobs, RFC/connectivity failures, interface errors, queues, locks, update failures, spool issues, certificate issues, and user access problems.
  • Coordinate cross-functional incident response across SAP, integration, functional, infrastructure, cloud operations, and business teams.
  • Drive timely issue resolution, business communication, post-incident review, and preventive action tracking.
  • Support production readiness, cutover, go-live, and hyper-care activities for new SAP capabilities and business rollouts.

Transport, Release & Change Management

  • Manage and coordinate SAP Transport Management System activities across Development, QA, and Production environments.
  • Validate transport sequencing, dependencies, approvals, release timing, testing status, and production change-control requirements.
  • Coordinate normal releases, emergency transports, production fixes, and post-release validation with functional, development, integration, and business teams.
  • Support release calendars, change advisory reviews, blackout periods, backout planning, and audit evidence collection for production changes.
  • Ensure transport and release processes are well documented, controlled, repeatable, and aligned with IT governance expectations.

Migration, Refresh, Upgrade & Hypercare Support

•    Support SAP migration, upgrade, system refresh, cutover, and post-go-live stabilization activities from a customer-side technical operations perspective.

  • Coordinate with SAP PCE / managed service providers for system refreshes, client copies, environment readiness, backup validation, disaster recovery testing, and technical maintenance activities.
  • Perform customer-side validation after refreshes, upgrades, maintenance windows, and production changes.
  • Help ensure system availability, business continuity, and operational readiness during major SAP lifecycle events.

SAP CPI / Cloud Integration / Integration Suite Operations

  • Support SAP integration operations using SAP CPI / SAP Cloud Integration / SAP Integration Suite as the integration gateway for SAP and external systems.
  • Monitor integration flows, message failures, queues, connectivity issues, certificates, authentication, destinations, and interface exceptions.
  • Coordinate troubleshooting across SAP S/4HANA, CPI / Integration Suite, external applications, functional teams, vendors, and business users.
  • Support integration testing, migration, cutover, post-go-live stabilization, and interface monitoring procedures.
  • Maintain integration support documentation, escalation paths, and operational runbooks for critical interfaces.

SAP BTP Readiness & Future Platform Support

  • Support the future SAP BTP roadmap, including BTP upgrade planning, operational readiness, integration capabilities, and platform governance.
  • Work with internal teams and external partners on SAP BTP subaccounts, connectivity, security roles, Cloud Connector, destinations, certificates, and integration monitoring as needed.
  • Help define support procedures and governance models for BTP-based services as Sunshine Group expands its SAP cloud platform capabilities.

SAP Security, User Administration & Compliance Support

  • Support SAP user administration, role assignments, authorization troubleshooting, and access lifecycle activities.
  • Use working knowledge of PFCG roles, authorization objects, and authorization trace tools to analyze access issues.
  • Support periodic user access reviews, audit evidence collection, security compliance activities, and basic Segregation of Duties concepts.
  • Collaborate with business process owners, functional teams, and security teams to maintain controlled and auditable access practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience will also be considered.
  • 5+ years of SAP Basis, SAP technical operations, or SAP production support experience.
  • Experience supporting SAP S/4HANA production environments.
  • Experience working with SAP S/4HANA Private Cloud Edition, RISE with SAP, SAP managed cloud, or other hosted SAP environments.
  • Strong SAP Basis knowledge, including system monitoring, troubleshooting, background jobs, dumps, RFCs, spool, queues, update processing, user administration, and interface monitoring.
  • Strong experience with SAP Transport Management System, including Dev / QA / Production transport flow, release coordination, dependency management, emergency transports, and production change control.
  • Experience coordinating with SAP, managed service providers, infrastructure teams, functional teams, developers, integration teams, and business users during production incidents and planned changes.
  • Experience supporting SAP migrations, upgrades, system refreshes, cutover, and hyper-care activities.
  • Experience with SAP CPI / SAP Cloud Integration / SAP Integration Suite, including interface monitoring and troubleshooting.
  • Working knowledge of SAP security roles, PFCG, authorization troubleshooting, user provisioning, and audit support.
  • Strong documentation, communication, stakeholder-management, incident-management, and root-cause-analysis skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • SAP BTP experience, especially SAP Integration Suite, Cloud Integration, Cloud Connector, subaccounts, destinations, certificates, connectivity, and security roles.
  • Experience with SAP Cloud ALM, SAP Solution Manager, or similar SAP monitoring and application lifecycle management tools.
  • Experience with SAP Fiori administration, SAP Gateway, and Fiori Launchpad configuration.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing, supply chain, finance, sales, or power electronics business processes in SAP.
  • Experience with ITIL-based incident, problem, change, and release-management processes.
  • Basic scripting or automation knowledge using PowerShell, Bash, Python, or similar tools is a plus.
  • SAP certification in S/4HANA, BTP, Integration Suite, or Basis-related areas is a plus.

Canadian Solar offers a competitive salary plus fully comprehensive benefits and performance bonus package based on an annual objective achievement. Our generous benefits package includes a 401(k) Retirement Plan, medical/dental/life/disability program, PTO and sick days.
The pay range for this position is dependent upon geographical location. USD$105,000 - $140,000 and CAD$135,000-150,000 and represents annual base salary only, without regard to location, and does not include bonus or other incentives or benefits that may apply. The pay range for this role is subject to change.
