What you'll be doing
As a Senior Technology Project Manager, you will be joining the Wealth Services Technology team to deliver user-focused solutions to CIBC’s Wealth and Brokerage clients and their supporting advisors. You will work closely with a multi-disciplinary team and manage a portfolio of projects from end-to-end. You will advise teams of stakeholders and business partners to ensure projects of all sizes are completed in line with the team’s scope, budget, quality and timeline, following CIBC’s Enterprise Delivery Framework (EDF). You will use your expertise in project management and delivery methodologies (both traditional and agile) to make recommendations for continuous improvements on all project plans. You will embody CIBC’s principles of professionalism, radical simplicity and genuine care to lead the delivery of modern solutions for our bank and for our clients.
We are looking for a candidate with experience in delivering large, complex technology projects across multiple disciplines, with experience within Wealth Management and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) as an asset.

How You’ll Succeed
- Project Management – Outline project goals, resource requirements, track financials and benefits, and support in delivering project artifacts. This includes a resource plan that ensures all stakeholders understand their role in the project and have a voice. A part of the mandate could also entail project ideation and business case development. Be especially effective in articulating the status of the project and the issues and risks. Provide leadership and guidance to ensure the project meets its intended objective with a continual focus on client experience.
- Project Governance - Lead and manage the governance and risk management components of the project by incorporating CIBC's technology standards into planning, integration and execution practices to ensure compliance with internal risk partners and external regulators.
- Collaboration – Help internal partners (including executives) make informed decisions about the development of programs, products, and services. Work closely with teams as you work toward a common goal and negotiate deliverables and milestones whenever necessary.
- Project Leadership – Proactively identify anything that will take projects off schedule and find solutions to correct the problem. Monitor milestones, and ensure they’re completed according to timelines and budgets. Develop, execute and track a project plan that is personalized for your team’s preferred mix of quality, time, and cost.
Who You Are
You can demonstrate experience in below:
- Initiate, plan, execute, control and close project(s) of a strategic nature, with an emphasis on managing project dependencies and incorporating project management standards, processes and procedures in support of continuous improvement.
- Manage team relationships. Provide performance feedback and coaching to project and program team members.
- Act as business liaison partner with business sponsor and stakeholders to develop the business case, and provide input on tactical direction.
CROSS-FUNCTIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
- Collaborate with colleagues on multiple Technology and Line-of-Business teams to ensure shared accountability for success
- Advise internal business partners, including executive heads of CIBC lines of business and their leadership teams, partner teams and centers of excellence and shared services.
- Work with external technology vendors/partners, who provide critical solutions and services.
KEY KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Relationship Management: Ability to establish and build healthy working relations and partnerships with clients, vendors and peers.
- Leadership: Knowledge of approaches, tools, and techniques for gaining the cooperation and support of others.
- IT Project Management: Knowledge of and experience with tools and techniques for planning, organizing, monitoring and controlling IT projects. Experience delivering Software as a Service (SaaS) applications, Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools would be considered an asset.
- Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of tools and techniques for effective use of a broad range of factors, assumptions, frameworks and perspectives when solving problems.
- Application Delivery Process: Knowledge of major tasks, deliverables, formal methodologies and disciplines for delivering new or enhanced applications.

- You have a degree/diploma in Business and/or a related field of study. A PMP designation, training in People Change Management, or a MBA designation would be considered an asset. You have 7+ years of experience in delivering projects, experience within or working closely with Wealth Management or brokerage services.
