What You’ll Be Doing

The Cybersecurity, Third-Party and Operational Resilience (CTPR) team aims to protect the bank and its customers by enhancing governance and oversight across the bank’s global regions, defining and enhancing cyber security capabilities, threat detection, and building resilience to operations and third party eco-systems. We take a risk-based approach to our activities and initiatives, maximizing impact in risk reduction, mitigation and resiliency. We operate within a proactive, agile and resilient security culture enabling CIBC to be the leader in client relationships. Our priorities help bring action to deliver with productivity, maintain trust of all stakeholders and leverage technology to seize growth opportunities.

In this role you will join CIBC's CTPR Project Management Office to lead and manage a variety of strategic initiatives across CTPR, including operational resilience, third-party governance and cybersecurity projects to strengthen critical operational resilience, technology enhancements to protect our data and applications, as well as modernization of security monitoring and response. You will work closely with peers from areas in CTPR to ensure that CIBC continues to align with industry best practice and regulatory compliance. You will lead teams of stakeholders and business partners to ensure projects of all sizes are completed in line with the team’s scope, budget and timeline.

How You’ll Succeed

  • Project and Stakeholder Management:  You will work closely with business and technology stakeholders to create detailed integrated project plans, financial plans and estimating models as required. You will define clear deliverables, roles and responsibilities and ensuring all project team members are working towards established milestones. You bring extensive practical experience and knowledge with techniques for planning, organizing, and monitoring multiple projects simultaneously. You can understand interconnection and dependencies across multiple projects and priorities in order to effectively mitigate project risks.

  • Communications Management:  You will act as a focal point of contact for the project to proactively identify and resolve project risks and issues. Through collaboration and persuasion, you lead and direct stakeholders towards meeting the objectives and realizing benefits of the program.  You will be following governance guidance for all communications, financial and change management, and use established project status reporting tools. You will also create high quality professional written communications and presentations to the team, stakeholders and to executive leadership on a regular basis.

  • Financial Management: You will identify and manage overall project costs and budgets, including monitoring resource requirements for people, hardware, software, and change requests, the creation of project forecasts, reporting monthly actuals and variances, within the financial risk appetite of the project. You will be using the financial tools to meet monthly financial reporting requirements.

Who You Are

  • You can demonstrate experience.  You have 8-10 years of professional Project Management experience ideally handling risks, regulatory, operational and process initiatives, IT and Infrastructure projects. Have a proven track record of managing project scheduling, project spent and forecasting, risks and issues, planning and reporting. You understand various lines of businesses, products, services, delivery channels and new technologies in the financial services sectors. It's an asset if you have a PMP or related certification. Bachelors or equivalent degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.  It’s an asset if you have experience with Agile methodologies, Operational Resilience, Business Continuity Project Management.
