What You’ll Be Doing  

The Digital Product Delivery team is responsible for creating and enhancing the digital channel (mobile, online) with capabilities that address business objectives and ensure optimal client experience. As a Sr. Product Owner, you are accountable for being a voice of the client when establishing priorities, understanding needs of various stakeholders (line of business, risk, security, finance), ensuring alignment across the cross-functional product team for each iteration, and delivering quality experiences for our clients. This role is responsible for leading the product vision and delivering enhancements for the digital channel with marketing technology that enables personalized client experiences that will increase digital sales and engagement. 

At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role.  You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.   

How You’ll Succeed   

  • Product Backlog – Create and maintain a prioritized Product Backlog, by working with business stakeholders, analytics, and client feedback to resolve our client’s problems and meet business objectives.  

  • Product Requirements – Create user stories and collaborate on product requirements. Product Requirements will be curated in a collaborative fashion with business system analysts, design, editorial, project managers, technical consultants and various members of the product team. 

  • Subject Matter Expert – Serve as the internal subject matter expert on the product and as a primary contact and thought leader for product related questions. To become an expert of your product, you will work to understand the architecture, designs, business needs to make informed decisions and lead new feature developments. 

  • Manage Each Iteration – You will manage release plans, monitor scope, schedule, budget, and ensure the best ROI on the development effort. Ensure each iteration delivers expected result by working closely with the development team to define, design, accept and adapt features, and evaluate after release. 

  • Relationship Management & Communication – You will collaborate and develop strong relationships with peers as well as business partners to deliver strong experiences. Create and deliver executive-level presentations, using creative storytelling to communicate complex ideas clearly and persuasively to senior leadership, while tailoring content and visuals to engage diverse audiences.

Who you are

  • You have a degree/diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, and/or a related field, and 5+ years of experience working in Digital Product Management - developing and maintaining new products and services. It is an asset if you have a Masters/Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) certification.
