About the Team and the Role:

eBay’s Cloud Data and AI organization provides the backbone that powers eBay’s global scale, operations, and experiences. Within this organization, Data, AI & Experimentation platforms accelerate product velocity and business impact by providing integrated, reliable foundations for data, analytics, machine learning, and experimentation. We enable the insight to production loop so teams can move from ideas to decisions and from prototypes to shipped features quickly, with confidence, and with measurable outcomes.

What You Will Accomplish:

As the Product Manager for Experimentation Platform, you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Set Direction: Craft a compelling long-term vision and strategy for the portfolio, aligning user and team needs with business objectives and industry trends.

  • Champion Users: Build deep user understanding and empathy through regular engagement, research, and feedback loops to identify difficulties and opportunities.

  • Manage Roadmap: Build and prioritize projects that balance today’s needs with strategic evolution to improve impact, making thoughtful trade-offs and aligning interested parties along the way.

  • Guide Development: Partner with design and engineering to define requirements, develop intuitive experiences, and validate solutions that result in cohesive user journeys across the platform ecosystem.

  • Drive Adoption: Build effective rollout strategies. Promote new capabilities through targeted communication, education, and roadshows. Provide comprehensive documentation, learning resources, and self-service tools to accelerate adoption and reduce support burden.

  • Drive Improvement: Define success metrics tied to user adoption, happiness, and efficiency.

  • Partner with the broader Product team to bring to bear the data and AI platform in service to platform and experience improvements.

What You Will Bring:

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following skills and attributes:

  • 7+ years of experience in technical Product Management within complex technical fields.

  • Strong knowledge of experimentation fundamentals, experiment runtime/triggering, analysis pipelines, and monitoring for bias, novelty, and interference.

  • Demonstrated passion for experimentation platforms and methodologies with a pulse on emerging trends.

  • Curiosity and growth mindset: actively seeking new perspectives and able to bring fresh thinking to technical challenges.

  • Strategic vision and acumen: proven track record of managing product portfolios in complex technical domains with a clear vision and strategy to improve portfolio impact. Skilled at connecting business objectives with user needs, balancing quick wins with strategic bets, and making thoughtful trade-offs.

  • Business insight: Understands how platform investments drive business outcomes. Clearly explains the value of technical investments in business terms and links platform capabilities to company strategic priorities.

  • Customer focus: Deeply understanding user needs through continuous engagement. Ability to identify and articulate clear problem statements. Develops innovative solutions with strong product intuition and judgement, thinking holistically about end-to-end user experience.

  • Data Driven: Analytical outlook that employs quantitative and qualitative data to understand user behavior, validate assumptions, and inform product decisions. Builds a culture that demonstrates clear success metrics to measure impact and drive continuous improvement.

  • Decisive: Makes timely decisions that provide clear direction and reduce ambiguity. Conviction in product opinions while remaining open to alternative perspectives and new information. Removes decision bottlenecks and shields teams from unnecessary scope creep.

  • Collaborator alignment: Building positive relationships across organizational boundaries, grounded in mutual respect and shared goals. Navigates complex organizational dynamics to drive alignment.

  • Influential communicator: Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence and encourage. Great at rallying teams around a vision and motivating others to action. Adapts communication style to different audiences and contexts to improve efficiency.

  • Deliver: Builds reputation through consistent, high-quality delivery. Disciplined prioritization with clear timelines and accountability. Drives initiatives to completion with clear, aligned definitions of done.

  • Learning approach: Passionate about incremental learning and fast feedback loops with customers. Values progress over perfection and breaks down large initiatives into prioritized deliverables that deliver value at each stage. Adapts quickly based on real-world user feedback.
