Dematic Canada is seeking a talented Mechanical Engineer to join our Canadian Mechanical Engineering team! The Mechanical Engineering team performs engineering assignments with clear and specified objectives while on multi-discipline project teams. The ideal candidate will be passionate about engineering projects through to completion, building relationships with customers, and undertaking opportunity in a growing industry and team! The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $90,750 - $133,100 CAD at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as work location, education, experience, knowledge, and skills. This is a replacement role.

Tasks and Qualifications:

This is What You Will Do in this Role:

  • Complete the design of sophisticated systems that integrate hardware and software
  • Complete sophisticated material specification, layout/drawing preparation, and appropriate follow-up
  • Complete recommendations for ideas related to productivity improvement, cost reduction and improvement in customer satisfaction
  • Perform complex technical interchange and knowledge transfer for both processes and application of products to system design
  • Identify and resolves more complex problems and applies problem-solving skills in order to deal with most situations
  • Project Engineering and Commissioning at customer sites
  • Communicate, train, and work with customer for final system design
  • Travels up to 25% to different customer locations/Dematic locations

What We are Looking For:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering preferred)
  • 8+ years of successful experience in related field and successful demonstration of Key Responsibilities and Knowledge as presented above. Advanced degree maybe substituted for experience
  • Proficient in 3D modeling software and AutoCAD
  • Experience in Material Handling/automation industry
  • Experience in a Mechanical Engineering position that is project-based (design to installation)
  • Strong communication skills/presentation skills
  • Ability to effectively delegate
  • Understanding of project schedule and budget for Mechanical Engineering functions
  • Able to lead multiple small or mid-sized projects.
