About the Role

eBay Live is redefining commerce by bringing together content, community, and transactions in a real-time, interactive format. Sellers are at the center of this ecosystem — their success directly drives buyer engagement, trust, and GMV growth.

We are looking for a Senior Manager, Seller Strategy to build how sellers onboard, grow, and succeed on eBay Live. This role will focus on defining seller strategy, driving supply quality and improving efficiency, and partnering cross-functionally to unlock growth across categories.

This is a high-impact individual contributor role with strong cross-functional influence across Business Development, Product, Marketing, and Operations.

What You Will Accomplish

Define Seller Strategy & Growth Levers

  • Develop and evolve seller strategy across onboarding, activation, and scaling
  • Identify key seller segments, behaviors, and growth opportunities using data and market insights
  • Define what success looks like for sellers on eBay Live (e.g., efficiency, retention, GMV contribution)
  • Translate insights into clear strategies and actionable initiatives

Drive Seller Activation & Success

  • Partner with BD and onboarding teams to improve seller acquisition, onboarding, and time-to-first-sale
  • Partner with teams that design playbooks to help sellers succeed in live formats (content, pricing, engagement strategies)
  • Identify friction points in the seller journey and coordinate efforts alongside Product to simplify and improve the experience
  • Support development of incentives, programs, and tools that drive seller growth

Own Seller Insights & Performance Tracking

  • Establish and supervise key seller metrics (activation, retention, streaming frequency, GMV per seller)
  • Analyze seller performance to identify patterns, gaps, and opportunities
  • Provide regular insights and recommendations to leadership and cross-functional teams
  • Help shape WBRs and operating cadences with a strong seller lens

Partner Cross-Functionally to Improve the Platform

  • Work closely with Product to inform roadmap priorities based on seller needs
  • Partner with Marketing and Programming to align seller supply with demand and content strategies
  • Collaborate with Trust and Policy teams to ensure safe, high-quality seller experiences
  • Act as the voice of the seller across the organization

Support Category & Market Expansion

  • Contribute to category-specific seller strategies based on market dynamics
  • Help identify which sellers to prioritize, when, and why
  • Support expansion into new categories by defining seller profiles, supply needs, and activation approaches

What You’ll Bring

  • 6–8+ years of experience in ecommerce, marketplaces, or customer roles
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking — ability to turn data into insights and actions
  • Proven ability to drive initiatives cross-functionally without direct authority
  • Experience in growth, operations, or strategy roles is highly preferred
  • Interest in live commerce, creator ecosystems, or video-driven marketplaces
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at multiple levels
  • AI Native thinking and skills (vibe coding, agent building)

What Success Looks Like

  • Sellers onboard faster and reach first success quickly
  • Increase in seller productivity (GMV per seller, streaming frequency)
  • Higher seller retention and repeat engagement
  • Clear, data-driven seller strategy guiding product and business decisions
  • Strong alignment across teams on how to grow and scale seller supply
