What you will be doing:

The Senior Manager, Quality Assurance leads the Quality Assurance team within CIBC’s Core Banking and Payments Technology group. This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the system testing process, ensuring the delivery of high-quality solutions that meet client needs and organizational standards. The incumbent works collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient planning and execution of testing activities aligned with project timelines and business objectives.

How you'll succeed

  • Leadership & People Management: Set appropriate context when assigning work to ensure that individuals’ roles support the achievement of the business unit’s priorities and CIBC’s overall goals. Build team and individual capabilities by providing development opportunities such as job shadowing, special projects, and training. Manage performance by providing fair and accurate formal and informal feedback, identifying and removing obstacles to performance, and explaining how performance expectations align with business priorities. Create a positive work environment and act as an effective role model by championing CIBC’s mission, vision, and values. Ensure compliance with policies, standards, guidelines, and controls by applying them fairly and consistently so employees understand what to expect. Hire the right people in the right jobs to align individual capabilities with job requirements and business unit goals.

  • Automation Expertise: Experience with automation strategies, frameworks, and tools to improve testing efficiency and coverage. Experience with Integrating automated testing scripts with DevOps tools and processes.

  • Collaboration: Build trusted working relationships with business stakeholders and technology partners. Collaborates with Internal and External Technology and Business partners to deliver high-quality testing solutions/approaches in order to deliver end to end.

Who you are:

  • You can demonstrate experience in: At least 10 years of experience in Quality Assurance and with 2+ years of experience in a management role (or Project Team Lead role), with proficient knowledge of Testing Life Cycle, SDLC, and Defect Management processes for application testing and support. 5+ years of experience in automation or equivalent technical role, with hands-on expertise in test automation tools (Selenium/Robot Framework, Parasoft SOAtest, Postman, Rest Assured, Cucumber, or similar). Experience with test management tools (JIRA, HP ALM). Strong understanding of QA/QE processes, SDLC, and regulatory requirements. Preferred experience with Python and Java, and SQL database skills. Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills. Strong communication skills, with the ability to express technical concepts to non-technical audiences. Demonstrated leadership, coaching, and mentoring abilities. Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and influence outcomes. Commitment to continuous learning and staying updated with emerging technologies and industry changes.
