Job Summary:

The Senior Manager, Data Infrastructure role ensures effective direction, career development and operational excellence for our Data DevOps Engineers, Database Administrators and Data Developers.

This role is pivotal in implementing a comprehensive technical data strategy, ensuring infrastructure and operations meet organizational objectives. Working closely with Enterprise Architects, Investment Application Product Owners, Unified Data Platform (UDP) and Unified Data Governance (UDG), PMO and Governance and InfoSec groups. The Senior Manger will oversee the development and optimization of Data infrastructure Platform across AWS and Snowflake cloud environment, and play a key part in hiring, mentoring and career development for the Data Infrastructure team.

What you will do:

  • Lead a team of DataOps Engineers and Database Administrators (3-4 direct reports).
  • Provide coaching, performance management, and skill development opportunities.
  • Demonstrate leadership aligned with organizational core values.
  • Partner with Senior Director and Senior Manager to assess business requirements and define a data technology roadmap for platforms and services, ensuring alignment with architectural and organizational goals.
  • Support the implementation of technical strategies that enable scalable, secure, and efficient data workflows. Accountable and Responsible of supporting Investment, Finance and Risk Data operations and Data infrastructure needs.
  • Own and drive the design, optimization, and operation of cloud-based data platforms, particularly AWS Cloud and Snowflake, ensuring high availability, reliability, and cost efficiency.
  • Oversee infrastructure supporting data pipelines, data warehousing, and self-service analytics.
  • Manage and maintain diverse database platforms, including Oracle, SQL Server, AWS RDS, and Snowflake, focusing on replication, performance tuning, security, and storage optimization.
  • Establish and enforce standards for security, identity access, and change management in alignment with risk and compliance policies.
  • Oversee operational workflows for Investment, Finance, and Risk data operations.
  • Manage database replication, monitoring, and troubleshooting to ensure uninterrupted service.
  • Support disaster recovery and business continuity plans for all data platforms.
  • Engage with vendors (e.g., AWS, Snowflake, Simcorp, Oracle, SAP and Microsoft) to onboard new services and support existing solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including delivery teams, to align on requirements and ensure the delivery of business outcomes.
  • Accountable for the monitoring, alerting, troubleshooting, replication for all databases which includes storage management, high availability of Data, performance tuning and provisioning.
  • Establishes and maintains service level agreements for database services
  • Prioritize projects based on business impact, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Define and track KPIs, operational metrics, and performance benchmarks for the Data Infrastructure team.

What you bring:

  • 8+ years of database administration experience, with at least 5 years in data infrastructure and operations leadership.

  • 5+ years of expertise in Cloud Data Infrastructure, specifically AWS and Snowflake, including designing, implementing, and optimizing solutions.

  • Hands-on experience with Oracle, SQL Server, and other relational database technologies.

  • Familiarity with managing hybrid cloud environments and migrating data platforms to the cloud.

  • Deep understanding of data warehousing and data lake architectures, cloud-native data workflows, and modern database solutions.

  • Proficiency in database performance tuning, high availability, disaster recovery, and security best practices.

  • Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform) for managing data infrastructure.

  • Experience driving initiatives for automation and self-service analytics platforms.

  • Strong understanding of data governance frameworks, compliance standards.

  • Experience leading diverse teams of DataOps Engineers, DBAs, and Developers.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate across technical and business teams.

  • Ability to exercise authority through influence, implement change, and standardize processes in an ever-changing landscape.

  • Demonstrated ability to mentor team members and foster career development.

  • Experience implementing Agile/Scrum methodologies within technical teams.

  • Proven ability to deliver under pressure in a fast-paced environment while ensuring operational excellence.

  • Relevant certifications, such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Snowflake SnowPro, or Oracle Certified Professional are highly desirable

  • Experience managing data infrastructure for Investment, Finance, and Risk domains is an asset.
