Job Description:
Reporting directly to the AVP, Organizational Development & Talent Management SL Canada, the Senior HR Consultant, Talent Analytics is accountable for analyzing and interpreting workforce data to provide insights and recommendations for the SL Canada HR team in support of key HR and business initiatives.
You are passionate about data and have a proven ability to gather and analyze data to produce actionable insights. This is an exciting opportunity to partner with SL Canada HR and business leaders to support and enhance HR Talent Strategy and programs as well as Business group decision-making, by leveraging your analytical, reporting and research skills. This includes the delivery of Enterprise HR annual processes and initiatives, as well as specific Business Group programs that focus on employee recognition, employee engagement, delivering on our Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I) priorities and other business-driven deliverables. What will you do?

Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis of HR and business metrics such as turnover, engagement, diversity, performance, and talent/succession planning

Identify trends, correlations, and outliers in the data to uncover root causes and areas for improvement

Develop reports, dashboards, and presentations to communicate analytical findings and recommendations to leadership

Monitor metrics over time to evaluate the impact of initiatives and programs
-
Report on HR Key Risk Indicators and provide data evidence required for internal/external audits

Stay up to date on emerging HR analytics tools, techniques, and best practices

Partner and align with Enterprise People Analytics team on new development and/or enhancement of HR analytics practices, tools, methodologies and processes

Maintain data governance and ensure all analysis complies with privacy regulations
What do you need to succeed?

Advanced data mining and analysis skills, specifically with workforce data
-
Proven experience using data to tell compelling stories to drive decision making at all levels
-
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with an eye for detail and accuracy

Strong planning and project execution skills and the ability to operate effectively in both structured and ambiguous situations and under directed and self-managed conditions

Excellent written and verbal communication as well as the ability to effectively package and present information to senior business leaders and HR professionals

Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to collaborate, partner and build relationships; willingness to challenge the status quo in a constructive manner

Strong consulting skills including the ability to diagnose issues, generate good alternative approaches or solutions and influence with data

Highly organized to manage large amounts of data and information, with ability to prioritize work requests from multiple sources

Working knowledge of Workday, Tableau, One Model and other data analytics and visualization tools (MS Excel, PowerPoint)

5+ years of relevant experience with quantitative/qualitative analytics and/or predictive analytics applicable to people research in a large organizational setting

General working knowledge of human resources with depth in any specific domain of human resources is an asset

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance.
