Position Summary:

At Miovision, we build our own custom electronics to deliver best-in-class transportation data and traffic management solutions. Our hardware team is responsible for developing the electronics, firmware, and radio components for Miovision Core and Scout traffic monitoring products, as well as the Opticom priority/preemption phase selectors, 2.4GHz radios, C-V2X, and infrared products.

We’re looking for an experienced RF Hardware Designer to join our team and participate in all stages of product development. You’ll be responsible for designing and validating RF subsystems for new products and sustaining in-field products. You’ll work on 4G/5G cellular, C-V2X (5.9GHz PC5), GNSS, Wi-Fi, and our proprietary Opticom 2.4GHz communication system. Some projects will require RF expertise at a system level (eg: communications link budget, antenna selection) while others will be at the PCB or module level (eg: selecting an all-in-one ISM band transceiver, RF circuit design with PAs, LNAs, etc).

You’ll work closely with other disciplines within the hardware team (electrical, firmware, mechanical, quality, supply chain) and will report to the Senior Manager of Hardware Development - Electrical. This is an intermediate to senior level position based in Kitchener, Ontario and requires in-person work as needed to meet project deadlines, although remote work is encouraged when access to hardware isn’t necessary. Assigned work will vary according to the candidate's abilities and active projects.
