Employees within a 90-minute radius of our Oak Brook, IL headquarters are required to adhere to the company in-office work guidelines of 4 days per month minimum from 10 am to 2 pm (1 of the 4 days must be a Monday or Friday).
This requirement does not apply to support specialist positions.

Job Summary & Responsibilities
As part of the newly created Employee Relations function at Inspira, the Sr. Employee Relations Advisor plays a critical role in fostering a positive employee experience while at the same time mitigating risk for the organization. Reporting to the Employee Relations and HR Compliance Manager in the HR Department, the Sr. ER Advisor utilizes their expertise in ER to create capacity for people leaders by coaching and guiding them through complex ER issues. Areas of primary responsibility include performance management, corrective action, investigations, and involuntary terminations. The Sr. ER Advisor ensures that fair and equitable solutions aligned with Company values are reached.
People leader guidance
- Partner with leaders at all levels of the organization to provide efficient, consistent, and prompt consultative services and resolve complex ER issues, including performance management, performance improvement plans, corrective action, involuntary terminations, restructuring, and accommodations.
Risk mitigation
- Identify, assess, and mitigate risk for the organization by ensuring adherence to policies, practices, and employment laws and regulations across multiple U.S. jurisdictions, as well as to Inspira's mission, vision, and values.
Conflict resolution and investigations
- Resolve conflicts in the workplace through mediation; conduct fair, impartial investigations of higher-risk issues such as discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and violence and other highly-sensitive concerns; prepare clear and concise investigation reports; recommend corrective action; and partner with business leaders in resolving concerns and addressing culture issues when appropriate.
Data analytics
- Appropriately manage case documentation and assist in analyzing ER data to identify trends, get to root cause, and create proactive solutions aligned with business needs and Company values.
Training
- Assist in developing and provide training for people leaders on ER topics, including targeted interventions to address specific concerns.
Project leadership
- Take the lead on complex ER projects or initiatives. Partner with HRBPs, Legal, Compliance, and other key stakeholders as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- 5-7 years of experience in Employee Relations/HR or related fields.
- Bachelor's Degree in Business or HR related discipline; Masters or J.D. is a plus
Skills & Abilities:
- Proven ability to build relationships with business leaders at all levels of the organization
- In-depth knowledge of and experience with employment laws, regulations, and HR policies and practices, preferably across multiple U.S. jurisdictions
- High level of emotional intelligence, empathy, ability to have difficult conversations, and integrity
- Ability to write and speak concisely, compassionately, and persuasively
- Strong active listening, conflict resolution, negotiation, and mediation skills
- Experience leveraging data to create proactive solutions
- Ability to thrive in ambiguity and make efficient, grounded, and fair decisions
- Ability to mentor less experienced team members and others in the organization
- Authenticity, positive outlook, and embraces change
Other Requirements:
- Infrequent travel (15%)
- Ability to provide personal transportation from time to time
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
