What you'll be doing
You will be a key part of an innovative, “first to market” technology culture, contributing to CIBC’s digital transformation journey. As a Senior DevOps Consultant, you will be joining CIBC’s SPT (Shared Platform Technologies) and ECIS (Enterprise Customer Information System) to assist in accelerating our transformation and optimizing the way we develop and deliver code to bring high value to our clients. You will collaborate with partners in application development, quality assurance, operations, infrastructure, and business across various technology groups to deliver high-quality products.

How you'll succeed
Continuous Integration & Deployment (CI/CD):

Proficiency in CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI

Understanding of automated framework and practices
Containerization & Orchestration:
-
Experience with Docker/Podman for containerization

Knowledge of orchestration tools like Kubernetes or OpenShift.
Scripting and Automation:
-
Strong scripting skills in languages such as Bash, Python, or PowerShell.

Ability to automate repetitive tasks and streamline workflows
Networking and Security

Knowledge of networking concepts and protocols.

Understanding of security best practices in DevOps environments.
Monitoring and Logging

Experience with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana).

Ability to analyze logs and metrics to troubleshoot issues

Who you are
-
You can demonstrate experience: 7+ years of experience working in IT industry with preferred background in Java/Python/NodeJS development and Middleware administration of available environment. You have a strong understanding of DevOps concepts/methodologies, principles and tools (IBM UrbanCode, Ansible), as well as CI/CD toolset. You have previous experience of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) and have strong scripting skills (Bash, Python & Go). You have experience in monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Dynatrace) and have built a dashboard for large scale applications. You understand cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their services.
