About the Role
Sr Designer is responsible to complete complex designs including kinematic analysis, FEA and development of GD&T and support tolerance stack ups.

Your Responsibilities
The following is a more detailed listing of their primary responsibilities.• Complete design new products according to customer requirements.• Research new product design opportunities;• Analyse new designs and products for quality, technical and economic feasibility. • Complete designs and complete:
- Drawing reviews
- DFMEA
- DV Testing and root cause of failures
- Assist in Development of Characteristic map and LV on drawings.
- Customer attachment points defined on drawings• Maintain all relevant records related to new product for reference in future development, • Organize and coordinate all incoming/outgoing CAD information;• Liaise with all required departments as well as other project engineers to enhance overall performance and customer satisfaction;• Support CAD and material/process specification for quoting activity. Excellent knowledge of current process capability, tooling and manufacturing tolerances.• Technical communication including but not limited to: SR&ED tax project outlines, design review presentations, patent applications;• Translate/pull down data from our Customers and use our standard products to assist with the quote build up process.• Ensure that safety standards are identified and communicated.• Maintain communication and utilize the expertise of other departments as required.• Ensure compliance with defined Business Management and Environmental Management Systems requirements.• Work in compliance with all health, safety and environmental legislation and ensure that departmental employees are trained appropriately.• Provide support for the continuous improvement initiatives within Techform, a division of Magna Closures.• Carry out all duties focusing on the goal of internal and external customer satisfaction.• Other duties as may be assigned
Who we are looking for
Listed below are some of the skill requirements for the Sr Designer.• Post secondary degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent is required;• 5-10 years of complex mechanism design experience.• The ability to create and interpret complex blueprints is required;• Strong organizational and communication skills are required;• Attention to detail is key;• Expert in CAD/CAE (FEA and dynamic simulation, numerical modelling) is required;• Expert in Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing is required;• Knowledge of network organization, secure website access, software installation and maintenance, and MS office applications is required;
