What you'll be doing

As a member of CIBC’s Technology Operations Services team, the Sr. Consultant, Information Technology Compliance will be responsible for providing advice and consultation for risk, regulatory and Industry best practices. The role provides technical leadership, interpreting complex information and leading the technology risk stream of compliance programs and regulatory requirements. The Sr. Consultant, Information Technology Compliance develops, recommends and facilitates activities required for the continuous management of such programs. The role manages the response for the Technology Domain in accordance with CIBC’s Regulatory Compliance Management Policy and Technology Risk Management Policy. In doing so, the consultant will monitor the regulatory landscape impacting CIBC from a technology perspective and ensure such regulatory developments are assessed, managed, and tracked in our central repository. The consultant will also take part as a key stakeholder in various assessments to provide effective review and challenge of risks related to technology.

How you'll succeed

  • Understanding Regulatory and Industry Best Practices - Work closely with internal and external partners to assess complex requirements and facilitate solution design discussions to ensure needs are met. Build strong relationships, lead discussions, listen and ask the right questions to ensure solutions meet requirements. Primarily working with Technology and Information Security but will have opportunities working with other lines of business as well.

  • Solution Design - Build and maintain compliance programs that meet regulatory and best practice requirements.  Gather and validate compliance documents.

  • Leading and Mentoring – Support end-to-end compliance as a subject matter expert, and provide guidance to a diverse team of technology and project professionals. Maintain a collaborative work environment and support team members to resolve organizational, operational, and process problems.

 

Who you are

  • You can demonstrate experience with: 3-4+ years in a compliance role leading and maintaining programs with the ability to elicit requirements and write strong documentation.  Excellent abilities to manage stakeholders and having strong communication skills is a must. You have strong abilities around analyzing and understanding data, as well as gap analysis expertise. You are proficient with Excel pivot tables, Visio, and other Microsoft office applications. You have strong problem solving skills, stakeholder management abilities, and exceptional organizational skills. 

  • It’s an asset if you have PCIDSS, COBIT, CISM, CISA
