What you’ll be doing 

The Senior Consultant, Communications is a key member of both the Capital Markets Technology team (CMT) and the Canadian Personal, Digital, Investing Technology and IT Transformation team. Reporting to a centralized Business Management Office, the Senior Consultant will support LOB colleagues and leaders, with a focus on end-to-end internal communication planning and implementation. In this role, you will write, develop and review content, as well be the single point of contact for enhancing and delivering specific communications out to the broader CIBC community.

To successfully perform the work, you’ll be on-site full-time. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.

How you’ll succeed 

  • Strategic and Tactical Communication- Planning, writing, scheduling and updating communications (i.e. news messages, leader emails, town hall presentations, support materials) for new and ongoing initiatives that support business strategy. General writing and editing as required to deliver high priority / rush or ad hoc communications that meet the needs of various stakeholders. Using MS Teams, the department’s communications calendar and Workplace to get messages to the appropriate audience(s) at the right time. Help oversee, review, and manage all LOBs' communications for service offerings, service changes and enhancements, as well as prepare executive presentations. Ensure communications are, clear, concise and accessible to employees of all technical aptitudes. Write and develop communication plans, marketing content, briefing documents, and key communication messages that represent the LOBs' overall strategy. Gather facts, think strategically, and apply solid judgment when managing difficult communications challenges. Effectively summarize ongoing base and project work, in a succinct and engaging manner, for presentation to senior management. Become a critical piece in articulating the overall Technology strategy to the various stakeholders, and prepare summarized progress back to Senior Management, which will help to gauge progress.

  • Strong Strategic Partnerships- Collaborate with internal Technology partners and coordinate communications across the various lines of businesses, to manage a wide range of communications Look for opportunities and strategies on delivering Technology communications with multiple different platforms (Engage)  to expand reach and impact

  • Relationship Management- Excellent relationship building skills to foster collaborative relationships with business partners. Liaising with internal partners and participating in project meetings to provide communications advice and expertise, including the development of communication plans and documentation. Coordination of translation for communications through authorized suppliers when required.

Who you are 

  • You can demonstrate 3-5 years experiences in. Media relations, social media and managing complex communication challenges. It is an asset if you have experience in and/or knowledge of banking and its diversified client segments. It is an asset if you have a relevant experience in fields of Journalism, Communications, or a related field of study or equivalent experience.
