What You’ll Be Doing

As a Sr. Consultant, Cloud Engineering in the CIBC’s Infrastructure Technology you will bring experience specifically in working with Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure. You will be responsible for providing technical guidance to ensure stable, reliable production and non-production environments for complex sharing initiatives in compliance with established controls, standards, policies, and procedures as well as act as an advisor to the senior management, utilizing a solid understanding of business dynamics to analyze and protect production and non-production environment integrity and mitigate risks, present and recommend solutions using available resources for complex initiatives with key dependencies. You will provide technical leadership, interpreting complex information and coordinating client, provider, and vendor relationships to meet and manage service expectations, aligned to best practices.

How You’ll Succeed

  • Leadership: Provide technical leadership during the design, build, configuration, implementation and maintenance phases of major public and private Cloud technologies and automation tooling in a multi-platform environment.

  • Engineering: Design, develop and test emerging Cloud-based software solutions. Provide automation expertise within core automation DevOps tool chain and orchestration expertise in Provisioning and Public Cloud. Implement and support both production and non-production Cloud platform environments and hosted applications including change management.

  • Collaboration: Partner with senior leaders across the company and make informed recommendations to enhance Cloud related solutions. Work with the Enterprise Architecture team on identifying requirements and design for continuous evolution of Cloud-based solutions.

Who You Are

  • You can demonstrate 7+ years' experience in design, implementation and support of Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services cloud technologies including AWS, multi-account Organizations, Control Tower, Cloud Formation implementation of “infrastructure as code”, ARM Templating, Azure DevOps Pipeline implementation of “infrastructure as code” deliveries and Role Based Access Control (RBAC). In addition, you also have proficiency with Python, Bicep, JSON and PowerShell scripting. It is an asset if you have technical knowledge of Windows Server, Linux/Unix, Middleware tier, Palo Alto Networks Firewalls, AWS Security Groups, Network ACLs, Direct Connect, Azure Firewalls, ExpressRoute & IPSec Tunnels, Virtual WAN, WAF, Network Security Groups (NSG) and other network and security components of AWS or Azure.

  • You are an Excellent Communicator. You have solid written and oral communication skills and an ability to produce a variety of business documents that demonstrate command of language, clarity of thought and orderliness of presentation as well as express oneself and communicate with others verbally; recognizing that verbal communication is more than just language - it includes tone, style and structure.

  • You have ability to manage multiple priorities. Ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups or activities. Effective judgment in prioritizing and time allocation.

  • You have decision making and critical thinking skill. You have knowledge of tools and techniques for effective use of a broad range of factors, assumptions, frameworks and perspectives when solving problems.
