What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll contribute to CIBC’s Digital transformation by successfully delivering complex, enterprise-scale projects involving multiple systems.  As a Sr. Consultant within the Enterprise Payments Technology group you’ll build, implement, and enhance easy, flexible, and personalized solutions that enhance the client experience. This role turns business and architecture concepts into implementable designs and supports both the development & project management in delivering the product.  As you lead the solution and strategy for the technical design of these applications, you’ll help build the future of banking.

How You’ll Succeed

  • Solution Design & Technical Consulting: Provide senior-level technical leadership to define end-to-end solutions across applications, platforms, infrastructure, interfaces, and integrations. Assess current-state systems, identify gaps, and recommend target-state architecture and implementation approaches.

  • Architecture & Integration Leadership: Lead the design of complex integration solutions in a multi-application enterprise environment. Produce high-level design artifacts, resolve design challenges, and develop detailed system integration plans that align with business and architectural standards.

  • Technology Evaluation & Innovation: Evaluate emerging tools, platforms, and external products/services, and recommend solutions that support strategic goals, operational efficiency, and long-term scalability. Contribute to business and technology proposals through effort estimation, cost analysis, and option assessment.

  • Business Alignment & Requirements Definition: Work closely with Business Analysts and business partners to translate business needs into solution designs. Ensure functional and non-functional requirements are clearly defined, including performance, scalability, availability, resiliency, and security considerations.

Who You Are

  • You can demonstrate experience with: A minimum of 5 years as a Solution or Technical Architect. You have experience leading technical teams, creating executive decks independently and are well versed at presenting to executives. Experience working with business and architecture teams to develop and design technology solutions is essential to this role. Ideally, you have progressed through application development, analysis, and design through your career. Demonstrated expertise to design and deploy highly scalable, available, and fault-tolerant systems on Microsoft Azure, including services such as Azure Red Hat OpenShift, Azure Kubernetes Service, Azure Web Apps, API Management, Azure Load Balancer, Azure Traffic Manager, Virtual Machines, Storage Accounts, Azure Entra ID, Azure Cache for Redis, Azure PostgreSQL, Azure SQL, an Azure Cosmos DB. Proficient with Java Spring boot, Node.js, Python, Azure DevOps , GitHub Actions and authentication protocols such as SAML 2.0 and OIDC. Good understanding of OpenAI for building declarative AI agents to automate and optimize workflows. It’s an asset if:  You have previous expertise within Payments.

  • You have a degree/diploma in: Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Physics or Technical discipline.
