Job Description

We are currently seeking a highly motivated Senior Buyer, Digital Investment & Activation, to join our growing team. This person will be fluent in paid Search marketing (SEM) and have a broad understanding of display, online video, programmatic and social.

This individual will primarily be responsible for executing campaign activity across SEM, programmatic, and social. 

Ultimately, this role should drive performance and innovation at the planning & campaign level to deliver the best digital media opportunities for the clients. 

Additionally, the Senior Buyer, Digital Investment & Activation, will assist in managing the workflow of the Digital Investment team while streamlining the process and approach.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Execution/Optimization 

  • Manage the execution of clients’ paid search program, inclusive of managing the efforts of any junior-level resources assigned to clients’ accounts

  • Implement/supervise the timely execution of other digital campaigns, including social, display, online video and programmatic.

  • Monitor campaign performance, analyze data, and provide strategic recommendations to optimize media spends and improve campaign effectiveness.

  • Work with the Ad Ops department as required

Reporting & Analytics 

  • Analyze performance data and provide intelligent insights, interpretations and appropriate action plans based on conclusions

  • Distill outputs down into a compelling document inclusive of actionable insights

  • Manage Team / Training 

  • Assist Supervisor with Digital Investment team training and supervision.

  • Contribute to team members’ developmental plan and be able to provide ongoing team feedback, etc.

  • Contribute to larger team training and learning agenda.

  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and digital media and advertising best practices.

Relationships 

  • Client – liaise with clients when required to provide strategic recommendations and analyses.

  • Internal teams – build and maintain strong relationships with the Horizon Media team acting as a valued digital resource.

  • Conduct presentations to key stakeholders, including senior management, to communicate campaign strategies, performance, and results.

  • Foster strong relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure effective collaboration and alignment of objectives.

Planning

  • Collaborate with clients to understand their objectives, target audience, and key performance indicators (KPIs) for digital campaigns.

  • Analyze client briefs and market research data to develop detailed and strategic digital investment plans that align with client goals.

  • Identify the most effective digital media channels, platforms, and tactics to reach the target audience and maximize campaign performance.

  • Develop media budgets and allocate resources effectively across different digital channels and campaigns.

Knowledge and Skills Required

  • 2-4 years of digital experience with demonstrated strategic and executional involvement in SEM.

  • Experience planning and running social media campaigns resulting in a comprehensive understanding of each partners’ platform (Facebook, Twitter, Snap etc.).

  • Experience running display and online video-based activity (or a strong familiarization of display and online video, in lieu of direct experience).

  • Experience with, or strong understanding of, programmatic capabilities and targeting.

  • Leadership and supervisory experience in terms of overseeing and developing media professionals.

  • Ability to manage a team of 2+ people at multiple levels.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills. Able to articulate clearly in person and in writing.

  • Exceptional analytical skills to measure the success of the digital programs, make any recommended optimizations, and to expand upon that success.

  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to juggle multiple responsibilities

  • Passion for technology, with a strong understanding of the inner-workings of digital platforms.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • In this position, you will co-train and co-manage the Buyer, Assistant and Analyst alongside the Associate Director.

  • Contribute to team member’s developmental plan, be able to provide ongoing team feedback, identify areas of improvement, etc.
