What You’ll Do:

As a Sr. BI & Insights Analyst, you will be responsible for providing analytical support to key clients within the business, primarily Marketing and Merchandise. Specifically, you will become a significant contributor of actionable insights which will drive marketing strategy, support with tactical initiatives, as well as improve efficiency within the organization. Your analysis and BI reporting skills will help to promote and sustain the profitable growth of the business. You are the type of individual who can energize the people around you and inspire fellow employees and shareholders with your natural curiosity and problem-solving ability.

  • Establish a strong understanding of POS, loyalty and customer related data sources, with emphasis on delivering data driven solutions.

  • Support our True North strategy through delivery of dashboards and reports.

  • Assist the development of data pipelines using Synapse Analytics and SQL Server to source, transform, and load data into BI environments.

  • Extract, manipulate and interpret data to isolate on key trends. Summarize findings into concise and informative reports and presentations.

  • Design, automate, maintain, and enhance BI data model and reports.

  • Support the development of sound analytical models utilizing various data sources. Understand the statistical significance of various model outputs and how to interpret them for creating business value.

  • Support cross functional teams with knowledge of data visualization and dashboard.

  • Provide proactive analyses on areas of the business which are influenced by customer behaviour trends.

  • Collaborate across teams to create synergies and support with financial implications.

  • Actively engage with data teams to continuously improve on data mart capabilities.

  • Manage project timelines through effective communication and feedback loops.

  • You will join an enthusiastic, fast-paced, and dynamic team at Canadian Tire. Sustained exceptional performance, innovation, creativity, insight, good judgment, and attention to detail are daily requirements.

What You Bring:

  • University degree in quantitative discipline, master program is preferred

  • 5+ years of experience in BI development, data warehousing, and analytical queries using Power BI

  • Working knowledge of SQL (or PySpark)

  • Experienced in data modeling techniques (dimensional modeling, star/snowflake schemas)

  • Knowledge of Power BI / DAX. MS Power BI Data Analyst Associate Certification is preferred

  • Working knowledge of Azure Synapse (or Fabric). MS Fabric Analytics / Data Engineer Certification is a strong asset

  • Digital / Web Analytics experience is an asset

Location: Toronto, Ontario (Hybrid: In-office 4 days a week)

Broadband Salary Range: $64,000 – $106,000 CAD.
Our typical hiring range is between $64,000 and $85,000 CAD. Salary decisions are also dependent on other factors such as your experience, industry benchmarks, internal equity and other role-specific requirements. For critical roles, the compensation offering will be reviewed to ensure alignment with market rate and conditions and the unique value you bring to the role.
