Ready to join a mission that matters? The future of cybersecurity starts with you.

About the Role:

CrowdStrike is looking for a Senior Automation Engineer to join our Falcon Complete Managed Detection & Response (MDR) Team. Our new colleague will be responsible for designing, building, and deploying scalable AI-powered automation services and microservices that enhance our security operations. You'll architect cloud-native services using Go, Python, Java/Groovy, and JavaScript, deploying them across CrowdStrike's Kubernetes infrastructure while integrating advanced AI capabilities and agentic automation frameworks.

CrowdStrike is a computer security company, and for this role we're seeking candidates with deep software engineering expertise, cloud infrastructure experience, and the ability to build production-grade services at scale. We expect strong technical leadership capabilities and proven experience delivering enterprise-scale automation platforms and microservices.

About the Product:

Falcon Complete is CrowdStrike's premier managed detection and response service, providing 24/7 threat hunting, monitoring, and response capabilities. Our automation platform leverages cutting-edge AI technologies, scalable microservices, and intelligent workflow orchestration to enhance our security analysts' capabilities and streamline incident response at enterprise scale.

Building on CrowdStrike's pioneering use of artificial intelligence, our automation infrastructure integrates LLM technologies, AI context engineering, and agentic automation frameworks—all deployed as resilient, horizontally-scalable services in our cloud infrastructure.

What You'll Do:

  • Design, build, and deploy scalable microservices and automation platforms to CrowdStrike's Kubernetes infrastructure.

  • Architect cloud-native services on AWS with proper networking, IAM, load balancing, and auto-scaling configurations.

  • Develop production-grade applications using Go, Python, Java/Groovy, and/or JavaScript.

  • Build AI-powered automation services leveraging LLMs, prompt engineering, and AI context engineering techniques.

  • Design and implement agentic automation frameworks that reduce repetitive analyst tasks and scale operations.

  • Implement CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Spinnaker, and GitOps workflows for automated deployment.

  • Build integrations with databases (PostgreSQL, Cassandra, Redis), message queues (Kafka), and external APIs.

  • Develop custom scripts using Adaptavist ScriptRunner and Java/Groovy/Python to automate security workflows within Jira.

  • Implement observability solutions including metrics, logging, alerting, and distributed tracing.

  • Collaborate with SOC analysts and engineering teams to identify high-value automation opportunities.

  • Own your work end to end: architect, develop, deploy, monitor, and scale complex automation systems.

What You'll Need:

  • 7-10 years of experience in software engineering with focus on building and deploying scalable services.

  • Strong proficiency in Go (Golang) for building high-performance microservices.

  • Experience with Python for automation, scripting, and AI/ML integrations.

  • Production Kubernetes experience (deployments, Helm, ingress, horizontal pod autoscaling).

  • Hands-on AWS experience (VPC, IAM, load balancers, Lambda, and related services).

  • Experience with Docker containerization and container image lifecycle management.

  • Strong understanding of databases (relational and NoSQL) and message queue systems.

  • Experience with Git workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code practices.

  • Experience building and deploying services that handle production traffic at scale.

  • Engineering best practices including testing, code reviews, observability, and resilient architecture.

Bonus Points:

  • Experience with AI coding tools, prompt engineering, and agentic automation frameworks (LangChain, LangGraph, Claude, etc.).

  • Familiarity with Java/Groovy and/or JavaScript/TypeScript for enterprise integrations.

  • Proficiency with Adaptavist ScriptRunner for Jira and advanced Jira workflow customization.

  • Understanding of incident detection, triage, and response workflows in MDR/SOC environments.

  • Advanced experience with auto-scaling technologies (KEDA, Kubernetes HPA/VPA).

  • Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (Pulumi, Ansible a plus).

  • CrowdStrike Falcon platform APIs and integration experience.

  • Experience building LLM-powered applications and AI workflow orchestration.

  • Monitoring stack experience (Prometheus, Grafana, Thanos).
