As a Senior Financial Analyst on the Expense Management team, you will partner closely with the business to deliver accurate budgeting, forecasting, and expense reporting. The position plays a key role in month-end and quarter-end activities, financial analysis, benchmarking, and continuous process improvement, helping to enable informed decision‑making across the organization.
What can you expect in this role?
Own critical planning and reporting deliverables across budgeting, forecasting, benchmarking, and month‑end and quarter‑end close.
Serve as a trusted finance business partner, delivering timely financial information and analysis to support informed decision‑making across the organization.
Partner with internal departments to develop annual budgets and quarterly forecasts, providing insight and commentary on key operational drivers, trends, variances, risks and opportunities.
Analyze operating and variable expenses throughout budget and forecast cycles to identify trends, variances, and areas for proactive cost management.
Prepare and deliver consolidated monthly expense reporting and analysis for management and business partners.
Partner with Enterprise Procurement team, analyzing vendor contracts and confirming funding availability.
Deliver ad hoc financial analysis and reporting in support of the Finance team and business partners, as required.
Coordinate with business partners to compile and analyze data for the annual benchmarking process.
Continuously improve processes and reporting, enhancing accuracy, efficiency, and overall effectiveness through automation, standardization, and best practices.
What do you bring to the role?
- University degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline
- CPA designation completed
- 3+ years of progressive Finance experience, ideally with exposure to budgeting and expense management
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to confidently engage stakeholders at all levels
- Advanced Excel & PowerPoint skills
- Strong analytical thinking and exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in team
- Self‑starter mindset with a passion for continuous improvement
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results under tight timelines
- Experience with Oracle Hyperion / Essbase and Spreadsheet Server tools (an asset)
- Insurance industry experience (an asset)
Salary Range: $73,500 - $123,500
