What You’ll be Doing

Reporting to the Director, Security Intelligence, the Senior Intelligence Analyst will be part of the team that is responsible for supporting the delivery of Corporate Security’s intelligence, data analytics, and investigation strategies. This incumbent conducts investigations, intelligence research, data gathering and analysis with respect to: internal and external fraud and major crime techniques as it relates to the financial industry; complicated ongoing criminal investigations and on any known or potential risks to the organization both reactively and proactively. The incumbent disseminates intelligence within Corporate Security, liaise with lines of business and external parties to source and analyze intelligence data for the purpose of mitigating financial loss, reputational harm and legal liability.

How You’ll Succeed

  • Receive and Assess Intelligence - Receive intelligence information from various internal, industry, open source, subscription and law enforcement sources. Evaluate accuracy and completeness of intelligence received. Assess and analyze the quality, relevance, applicability or impacts to CIBC business for the information gathered to formulate conclusions, responses and recommendations.

  • Analyze Data and Create Reports- Perform trend analysis to identify emerging trends of concern. Identify potential issues that pose risk to CIBC. Independently research, compile and conduct detailed analysis of fairly complex information. Develop detailed analysis that synthesizes key analytical insights and conclusions for use to resolve complex assignments.

  • Collaborate and Support as Needed- Develop and maintain a network of intelligence contacts within law enforcement, the financial services industry, domestic and international, and other related industries or services. Work in collaboration with other areas within Corporate Security and CIBC business lines to identify emerging intelligence needs and identify sources to obtain desired information. Support the preparation of briefing assessments of current intelligence to discuss with stakeholders on emerging trends, including nature of trend, tactics and operational capabilities of criminal groups, likely target areas and possible impacts to CIBC. Assist in the preparation of high quality criminal briefs, affidavits and forensic accounting reports for criminal prosecution and civil litigation processes. Maintain the Corporate Security Investigation database within area of responsibility. Participate in special projects and research assignments as required.

**Prior to starting in this role, security checks, including a criminal record check must be successfully completed to the satisfaction of CIBC. An annual criminal record check may also be required.
