Company Description

Reporting into the Head, Tax & Accounting, the Senior Accounting Manager will be responsible for overseeing critical business projects and process improvements within the Finance department. This position will work alongside the Head, Tax & Accounting to support the overall co-ordination and execution of all financial processes and departmental objectives across our business units: Red Bull Canada (RBCA), Red Bull Canada Distribution (RBCD) and corporate functions. In addition to the above, the position will be responsible for ensuring the maintenance of accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations, and providing strategic financial insights to support informed decision-making.

Job Description

PROJECTS

Lead both internal and external facing, cross-departmental projects.

Identify and lead all implementation strategies for financial systems (ERP System Upgrade: S4 Hana).

Continuously monitor processes and mitigate issues post go live.

Responsible for leading the Finance workstream for our New Business/Legal Entity: Ingredients Plant (British Columbia); main liaison with Global and external tax consultants.

Provide ongoing support to our RBCD team regarding the recent expansion of our self-distribution model.

Develop and enhance financial systems, processes, and policies to streamline operations and enhance accuracy and efficiency; leverage best practices, and automation.

DEPARTMENTAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide support, guidance and oversight to the Head, Tax & Accounting, and the managers regarding the following areas: Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable (AP Processes / Master data) and Treasury.

Prepare and review tax provisions and disclosures for financial reporting in compliance with accounting standards and provincial legislation.

Partner with the Denver Shared Services Center & local sales team on RBCD related operations and projects (e,g., automating payments for customers, etc.).

Manage the digital migration of payment inflows.

Responsible for reducing DSO, bad debt and collections.

Manage liquidity forecasting processes in partnership with HQ.

Stay current with changes in accounting regulations and industry trends and assess their potential impact on the company's financial reporting and operations.

Manage the external audit process, serving as the main point of contact for auditors and ensuring a smooth and efficient audit. Prepare and review complex accounting transactions, such as revenue recognition, expense accruals, and intercompany transactions.

Oversee the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and company policies.

BUSINESS PARTNERING

Partner with the RBCD & RBCA Accounting Manager in relationship to the Red Bull Canada Sales teams as we seek out new business channels and look for ways to further accelerate growth.

OTHER

Responsible for reviewing Legal Contracts -Cursory Reviews regarding terms/treasury/taxes/etc.

Process narratives and documentation on internal processes.

Lead and recommend updates / changes to policies.

Support where required for our internal planning submissions.

PEOPLE

Help support and foster team dynamics and engagement.

Support the larger team around feedback, recruitment and onboarding.

Qualifications

10+ years of well-rounded experience in accounting and reporting comprising of all financial cycles including a minimum of 7 years in a comparable industry & 5 + years as a manager.

Detail oriented & strong work ethic.

Ability to meet tight deadlines & deliverables.

Strong prioritization and organizational skills.

Ability to handle multiple and conflicting deadlines.

Strong leadership and being able to take initiative and anticipate future needs of the department.

Highly confident and responsive to business needs with a sense of urgency.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Advanced knowledge MS Excel.

Working knowledge of SAP R3 or other ERP system.

Other systems exposure regarding Concur, Hyperion, High Radius.

Post-Secondary Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting/Finance.

CPA professional designation.

Fluent in English, additional language skills an advantage.
