What you'll do
The Specialist, Travel & Expense is responsible for the daily oversight, care for employee and support associated with corporate travel and expense reimbursement, as administered through the Concur expense management tool and corporate credit card program. This position will partner closely with the accounting team and other internal business partners to drive efficiency and cost savings through analytical reporting, auditing and training, and will ensure employee compliance with all Canadian Tire policies, most specifically the Travel & Expense Policy.

Administer the corporate VISA program and act as the primary point of contact for any credit card related questions or issues

Process card related tasks and respond to inquiries relating to new applications, terminations, limit changes, fraudulent charges, declined charges, etc.

Manage monthly maintenance relating to delinquencies, terminated employees and submitted expense reports

Ensure compliance to corporate policies, procedures and processes

Complete Corporate Card Account reconciliations relating to Travel & Expense

Perform daily and monthly reconciliations between Concur and the General Ledger

Monitor and reconcile the interface between VISA and Concur, and between Concur and General Ledger/Payroll

Continuously review Concur, processes, procedures and provide recommendations for improvements

Analyze policy compliance to understand exceptions monthly by utilizing audit tools and reports within Concur

Complete expense report audits to ensure compliance

Collaborate with cross functional teams to ensure appropriate processes are performed accurately and in a timely manner

Facilitate regular training sessions on Concur system and expense reporting

Challenge the status quo by consistently identifying areas for improvement, diagnosing issues and working to resolve them

Assist in any month end/year end processes as required
What you bring

1 to 2 years of financial administration experience or experience in an equivalent work environment

Strong analytical, interpretive and problem-solving skills

Strong planning and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize work to meet established deadlines and standards

Adaptability and Support for change; adjusts to different situations, processes and technology in periods of change

Communication: uses verbal, written and non-verbal communication to gather information and deliver key messages

Working with others; establishes and maintains effective working relationship with others

Two-year post-secondary diploma or equivalent in business administration, finance, or accounting

Previous experience with PeopleSoft Finance and/or Concur is considered an asset
