What You’ll Do:


  • Ensure ongoing value, quality and service are achieved across key commodity categories.
  • Become the company Subject Matter Expert for the Procure to Pay process (P2P)
  • Lead strategic procurement relationships through frequent interaction with the Kawartha Dairy’s top suppliers and service providers.
  • Leads sourcing and purchasing activities for strategic procurement categories (e.g. key category strategy, strategic sourcing, contract development and management)
  • Oversee spend analysis in collaboration with Finance Peers to make informed category decisions based on trends that emerge from our own data
  • Stay up to date on market trends that will affect key categories for the business, to identify any potential risks or opportunities on supply or price
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of policies and procedures (e.g. non-disclosure agreements, vetting procedures for all contracts and agreements, including SOWs/RFIs/RFPs); sharing this information as necessary
  • Establish supplier performance monitoring tools that track lead time adherence, On Time in Full Delivery (OTIF), and other KPIs allowing for supplier score carding and proper oversight.
  • Work alongside our Quality Control team to hold suppliers accountable to meeting specifications. Ensure suppliers are urgently engaging in resolution for any deviations or service failures that occur.
  • Deliver against performance targets and provide reporting in line with business compliance and procedures
  • Support Procurement Manager on all related replenishment of materials and supplies needed for the business
  • Participate and contribute to special projects when and where assigned
  • Act as an ambassador for procurement to promote the need and use of systems and tools, both locally and globally

What You Need to Get the Job Done:


  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in Sourcing or Procurement
  • Experience negotiating national contracts
  • Experience opening RFP's / RFQ's
  • Experience managing Direct, Indirect, and MRO spend
  • Experience working within an ERP, Oracle NetSuite is an asset
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel knowledge and experience.
  • Sound communication and relationship building skills.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills and a strong team orientation.
  • High level of self-motivation and initiative.
