About the Role
We’re looking for a technical leader and innovator to join our team as a Solution Architect - AWS. In this role, you will design, develop, and deliver high-quality enterprise software solutions that meet both business and technical requirements. You’ll provide hands-on coding expertise, set software engineering standards, and collaborate across teams to ensure secure, scalable, and reliable applications. This is a highly visible role with influence across engineering teams, shaping cloud-native solutions, mentoring engineers, and driving best practices in modern software engineering.
What You’ll Do
Design, implement, and maintain enterprise-grade software applications.
Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code aligned to engineering best practices.
Partner with product managers, architects, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions.
Collaborate with QA, DevOps, and support teams to ensure smooth deployment and operation of applications.
Conduct peer reviews, define coding standards, and implement automated testing strategies.
Mentor junior engineers by guiding technical design, coding practices, and problem-solving.
Diagnose and resolve complex production and development issues while optimizing application performance.
Research and recommend new tools, frameworks, and practices to continuously improve engineering efficiency.
Influence architectural standards for cloud-native solutions across engineering teams.
Support CI/CD pipelines, deployment strategies, and observability practices to ensure resilience, security, and cost optimization.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
7+ years of professional software engineering experience.
Proficiency in Java and JavaScript/TypeScript (additional languages such as Python or C# are a plus).
Strong knowledge of software engineering principles, design patterns, and best practices.
Proven hands-on experience with AWS cloud services.
Experience with databases (SQL and NoSQL).
Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions), and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with multiple cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Strong understanding of enterprise-level security, performance, and scalability.
Ability to lead technical design discussions and influence architectural decisions.
Effective collaboration across technical and non-technical teams.
Strong communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly.
Demonstrated ability to mentor, guide, and inspire less-experienced engineers.
Current Location: Mississauga. Our Mississauga office will move to 1 Adelaide in Toronto in September 2026
The hiring base salary range for this position is $111,100 to $152,800 annually. Actual compensation within this range will be dependent upon the individual’s knowledge, skills, experience, equity with other team members, and alignment with market data. Please note that the disclosed salary range is solely for candidates hired to perform work within this geographic location. Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location.
