About the Role

We’re looking for a collaborative and strategic technology leader to join our team as Solution Architect - Architecture. In this role, you will design, guide, and communicate architectural patterns across multiple projects without direct management responsibilities. This role ensures alignment with enterprise goals and best practices while enabling teams to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions. The Solution Architect - Architecture will work closely with engineering, product, and operations teams to provide architectural leadership, influence decisions, and advocate for technical excellence. The Solution Architect – Architecture will work very closely with the Solution Architect – Software Engineering to collaboratively provide the best architectural and software outcomes for the Application Development team.

What You'll Do

  • Define, document, and evolve architectural patterns, reference architectures, and best practices for cloud-native applications on AWS. Ensure patterns are reusable and aligned with long-term business and technology strategies.
  • Oversee architecture for multiple concurrent projects. Provide solution guidance, validate designs, and review implementations to ensure compliance with established architecture principles.
  • Clearly communicate architectural vision, design decisions, and trade-offs to engineers, product managers, and leadership. Translate complex technical concepts into business-relevant outcomes.
  • Stay current with evolving cloud technologies, emerging frameworks, and industry best practices. Recommend and pilot new tools, techniques, or approaches that improve system performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Define architecture standards for cloud-native solutions across multiple engineering teams.
  • Support CI/CD pipelines, deployment strategies, and observability practices.
  • Ensure systems are secure, cost-optimized, resilient, and scalable.
  • Drive alignment with AWS Well-Architected Framework and internal governance requirements.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 7+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 4+ years in architecture.
  • Proven track record of designing and implementing cloud-native solutions at scale.
  • Deep knowledge of AWS services, including but not limited to: S3, SNS, SQS, Lambda, CloudWatch, EKS/ECS, EC2.
  • Working knowledge of NodeJS, NestJS, and TypeScript for application development.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS/EKS).
  • Understanding of distributed system design, event-driven architectures, and microservices.
  • Strong preference given to AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate/Professional.
  • Expert cross-functional communication skills with the ability to lead effective conversations within the cross-functional environment.
  • Expert level ability to translate and communicate both technical and non-technical concepts to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Solid experience in developing and measuring KPIs to improve delivery quality and estimation accuracy.

Current Location: Mississauga. Our Mississauga office will move to 1 Adelaide in Toronto in September 2026

The hiring base salary range for this position is $111,100 to $152,800 annually. Actual compensation within this range will be dependent upon the individual’s knowledge, skills, experience, equity with other team members, and alignment with market data. Please note that the disclosed salary range is solely for candidates hired to perform work within this geographic location. Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location.
