A day in the life of a Capital One Manager, Software Engineering.
You'll motivate, manage, and inspire a team of software engineers to deliver innovative products.

• Helping customers view and monitor their credit scores with Credit Keeper
• Enabling customers to view and edit their Personal Information directly in the Mobile App
• Providing customers 100% certainty which credit cards they'll be approved for before they apply, by using Quick Check™

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of engineers with the goal of building digital solutions to humanize the world of credit cards for millions of Canadians
• Provide feedback, career coaching and participate in talent and succession planning
• Encourage innovation, implementation of cutting-edge technologies, inclusion, outside of the box thinking, teamwork, self-organization and diversity
• Lead the craftsmanship, availability, resilience and scalability of applications within the Software Studio
• Bring passion to stay on top of tech trends, experimenting with and learning new technology

Basic Qualifications

• At least 8 years of experience as a hands-on software engineer preferably using Java/Python or other object-oriented programming languages
• At least 8 years of experience with application and/or data design, architecture and development
• At least 3 years of experience leading a team within an agile environment
• At least 2 year of experience providing direct people leadership including talent development, performance management, team building and succession planning
• Bachelor's in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or in related field

Preferred Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in a technical role
• 8+ years of experience with application data design, architecture and development
• Experience working with Mobile Native Android and/or iOS applications.
• Experience coding with Kotlin or Swift.
• Experience with AWS and Serverless Technologies
• Experience with any combination of the following: Angular, JavaScript, Node, Kotlin, JUnit, Espresso, Jenkins, SwiftUI, XCTest
