We are seeking a passionate and experienced Software Engineering Manager to lead a high-performing team within our Developer Platform Engineering group. This team focuses on building and maintaining critical internal applications that empower our engineering, customer support, sales, and finance teams. Must be comfortable managing a polyglot team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of software engineers.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment that encourages innovation and continuous learning.
- Define, prioritize, and execute on the team's product roadmap, ensuring alignment with business objectives and customer needs.
- Work closely with product managers, stakeholders, and other engineering teams to gather requirements, understand user needs, and translate them into technical solutions.
- Drive technical excellence within the team, ensuring high-quality software delivery, adherence to best practices, and continuous improvement of development processes.
- Advocate for and implement modern software development methodologies, including Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD.
- Monitor and analyze team performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement necessary changes to enhance efficiency and productivity.
- Collaborate with other engineering teams across the organization to ensure interoperability and a consistent developer experience.
- Stay abreast of the latest technologies and industry trends in software engineering and apply them to improve the team's capabilities.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 5+ years of experience as a Software Engineering Manager or equivalent leadership role.
- Strong technical foundation in software engineering principles, including object-oriented programming, data structures, and algorithms.
- Proven ability to lead and mentor software engineers, fostering their professional growth and development.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies and tools.
- Passion for building high-quality, scalable, and maintainable software.
- Experience with cloud computing platforms (preferably with AWS).
- Experience with DevOps practices and tools (CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, monitoring, logging).
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Experience with building and managing developer tools and platforms.
- Excellent understanding of development with GoLang, Ruby, and JavaScript
- Experience with SaaS product development and deployment.
- Experience with data analysis and visualization tools.
Benefits and Compensation listed vary based on the location of your employment and the nature of your employment with SailPoint.
As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the SailPoint Corporate Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission, along with potential eligibility for equity participation. SailPoint maintains broad salary ranges for its roles to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect SailPoint’s differing products, industries, and lines of business. Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity. We estimate the base salary, for US-based employees, will be in this range from (min-mid-max, USD):
$147,140 - $210,200 - $273,260
Base salaries for employees based in other locations are competitive for the employee’s home location.
