Job Description

Your role within the team:

  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with company procedures and policies.
  • Timely execution of the assigned scope in the assigned software project capacities.
  • Performing the suitability assessment (and qualification where needed) of system hardware and pre‑developed software components. Typical scope will be to work with upgrading from legacy Varian 72 to L3 Harris SSCI-990 FGPA (DCC-Digital Control Computer).
  • Support designing, installation and testing of an assigned product test environment.
  • Integrating software and hardware components and preparing software engineering documents such as Software Requirement Specifications, Software Design Description, Software Modification Specifications, test procedures, test reports, operation manuals etc.
  • Implementing and maintaining key project support systems (i.e., configuration management, document management and change control systems) for the software products
  • Assist on preparing validation tests and/or review the results of the validation testing.
  • Responsible for change control - Using configuration management system provided by his/her department to maintain software files, release and documentation.
  • Preparing and maintaining work plans for the control software change activities.
  • Support OPEX Review - Assembling OPEX and assessing what changes should be incorporated in the future designs of Tooling and Equipment.
  • Report and suggest resolution to any potential impacts to technical quality identified by the computer system manufactures and vendors.
  • Ensure all work activities are performed safely, in collaboration with the Project Safety Manager.

The ideal candidate:

  • Engineering degree (Electrical, Control, Software) from an accredited university.
  • Minimum 7 years relevant work experience.
  • Computer programming experience
  • Engineering Change Control knowledge.
  • Computer proficiency – Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Access, Visio, PowerPoint, Outlook.
  • Analytical ability and effective decision making.
  • Written/oral communication skills.

Security Clearance (from Candu Energy and OPG) must be obtained and maintained as a condition of employment.
