About Verto Health

At Verto Health, we’re transforming how healthcare organizations connect and collaborate through delivery of digital twin & AI-enabled journeys for population health. Our solutions use patented technology to transform structured and unstructured data, from any source, into seamless patient journeys - reducing administrative burden for clinicians. The VERTOTM platform has powered 11.5M+ patient visits and enhanced care across 100+ sites & 25+ health systems/regions & hospitals.

We’re a team of engineers, designers, and healthcare professionals united by curiosity, compassion, and a drive to make an impact. We believe that the best ideas come from collaboration—so we build in the open, learn continuously, and make sure our technologists see their work in action through implementation go-lives and on-sites.
Verto is a hybrid company with a remote-first approach. While most of our team works remotely within the GTA, we encourage in-office collaboration at OneEleven (downtown Toronto) on Tuesdays and during our monthly “Tech Takeover” days.

The Role

  • Seek out, propose, and execute on projects that improve system reliability and reduce operational toil
  • Participate in design and architecture discussions, providing guidance to ensure features are built with reliability in mind
  • Build end-to-end tooling and automations that enhance observability or resolve issues automatically
  • Support cloud security best practices by automating scanning, reporting, and alerting
  • Optimize cloud usage, reduce waste, and identify opportunities for cost efficiencies
  • Troubleshoot infrastructure and application issues, providing Tier 3 support and ensuring clear communication with downstream stakeholders
  • Participate in on-call rotations as required
What You Bring
  • College certificate or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science
  • Ability to manage and maintain databases such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Clickhouse
  • 2 plus years of experience in development or cloud systems engineering
  • 2 plus years of experience with full stack development frameworks (Ruby on Rails, Python Flask, Angular JS)
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • Cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
    • Kubernetes or Docker
    • Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Puppet)

    • Linux environments (Ubuntu, RHEL, CentOS, Debian)
    • Networking fundamentals (VPNs, TCP/IP, DNS, routing, firewalls)
    • CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Argo CD, Jenkins, GitLab, Azure Pipelines)
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate across engineering and operations teams
  • Curiosity, adaptability, and a desire to continuously learn
Nice-to-Haves
  • Understanding of security best practices or frameworks such as ISO27001, COBIT, or HITRUST
  • Previous experience working in healthcare or health tech
Why Verto
  • Work that directly impacts healthcare systems across North America
  • Continuous learning environment with mentorship and $2,000 annual learning budget
  • Comprehensive health & dental benefits, 3 weeks vacation, 5 personal days, and unlimited sick days
  • Remote-first flexibility with co-working access in downtown Toronto
