Description

eyesAtop is building the operating platform for multi-drone warfare, a battle-proven system that augments, deploys, and orchestrates autonomous drone fleets across any mission, any environment, and any vendor. With over 500,000 hours of frontline operational use and TRL-9 validation, our software is not a prototype. It runs in combat, every day, shaping outcomes in some of the most contested and complex environments on earth.

We unify drone control, edge-AI processing, and mission execution into a single operational loop, from detection to decision to strike. Our platform gives a single operator the ability to command and coordinate an entire fleet in real time: persistent aerial surveillance, automated target recognition, shared tactical picture, and seamless handoff from ISR to kinetic response, without manual delay.

We are expanding our US engineering team in the New York metropolitan area. Our office is easily accessible from New York City. If you want to work on technology that matters, not in a lab, but validated in the field, this is the role for you.

The Role

Our software flies drones in combat, not in demos, not in simulations, but in the field, every day. eyesAtop builds the operating system for multi-drone warfare: one platform that lets a single operator command an entire fleet in real time.

We are looking for a Software Engineer, Robotics & Integration to help turn advanced drones, sensors, payloads, and third-party technologies into reliable, field-ready capabilities that operators can trust. You will work across the full integration stack, from flight controller protocols and embedded device communication through to the Android control app that operators depend on in the field. You will own integrations end to end, from first connection to deployed capability.

What you’ll do

  • Integrate robotic platforms, payloads, sensors, and external software into the eyesAtop platform
  • Write production-quality code across Java (backend services), C++ (MAVLink and flight controller integration), and Python (scripting and tooling)
  • Build and maintain the Android control application, the operator's primary interface for commanding drone fleets in the field
  • Integrate flight controllers and drone subsystems using MAVLink and PX4, bridging low-level hardware behavior with operator-facing software
  • Debug across software, networking, devices, APIs, field behavior, and operator workflows
  • Test in simulation, lab, and field environments
  • Work directly with vendors, pilots, hardware engineers, and product teams
  • Own integrations end to end, from first connection to deployed capability
Requirements
  • M.Sc. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent
  • hands-on experience with robotics, autonomous systems, drones, or embedded platforms
  • 3+ years of software development experience with strong skills in Java, C++, Python, or similar languages
  • Experience with Linux, networking, APIs, serial protocols, devices, or distributed systems
  • Familiarity with real-time systems, control loops, or embedded platforms
  • Comfort working close to hardware, even without a dedicated hardware engineering background

Strong fit if

  • You are familiar with drone flight stacks (PX4, ArduPilot, Betaflight, or similar) and MAVLink-based communication
  • You have experience with drones, robotics, embedded systems, autonomy, defense, or field-tested systems
  • You've worked with embedded platforms such as STM32, ESP32, Jetson, or similar
  • You've led technical work or owned complex integrations end to end

Compensation: $180,000 – $220,000 base salary
