About you

We’re looking for an iOS engineer with a Computer Science or related degree who is passionate about making digital living safe and seamless for everyone. The ideal candidate should have a passion for working on the iOS platform and helping Okta Personal build the next generation of identity manager for consumers. This role has significant impact and visibility within Okta, offering strong growth potential.

  • You will join the Okta Personal Devices team to design and implement the Okta Personal iOS app.
  • You are an experienced engineer and have a passion for working on mobile platforms, with strong knowledge on the iOS platform and architecture.
  • Experience with common software engineering tools such as git, github.
  • Solid grasp of software engineering principles and practices.
  • Well-organized, methodical and detail focused.
  • Enthusiasm for continuous learning, and helping customers


Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work with the engineering team to develop and deliver highly scalable software used daily by millions of users 
  • Drive evaluation, development, and roll-out of new features in our mobile iOS application
  • Collaborate across Product, Design and Engineering teams
  • Code & implement unit/functional tests.
  • Review software design & code.
  • Help with design and code reviews. Ensure high programming standards by writing unit and functional tests. 
  • Continuously improve developer velocity and efficiency by contributing to build and deploy processes, test automation, and modern mobile application development practices.


Minimum Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of the iOS design principles, patterns, and best practices.
  • Experience working with IDEs like XCode, SwiftUI(UIKit), and Swift 
  • Experience with RESTful APIs and networking in iOS apps.
  • Experience with version control systems (Git, GitHub/GitLab).
  • Experience working in an Agile software development team leveraging continuous integration and deployment practices.
  • Experience in mobile software development that supports building highly reliable, consumer-facing software.
  • Experience in managing and overseeing app releases, ensuring smooth deployment to the App Store.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with automated testing frameworks (XCTest, UI Testing).
  • Experience in cross-platform frameworks like Flutter or React Native is a plus.
  • Experience in Android development is a plus
  • Understanding of Identity and Access Management protocols and architecture (biometric authentication, FIDO, U2F, WebAuth, SSO, SAML, Kerberos, OAuth, Federation, etc.).

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of Software Development & Design experience. At least 2+ years’ experience on the iOS platform

Below is the annual salary range for candidates located in Canada. Your actual salary will depend on factors such as your skills, qualifications, and experience. In addition, Okta offers equity (where applicable), bonus, and benefits, including health, dental, and vision insurance, RRSP with a match, healthcare spending, telemedicine, and paid leave (including PTO and parental leave) in accordance with our applicable plans and policies. The annual base salary range for this position for candidates located in Canada is between:

$102,000$154,000 CAD
