We’re hiring multiple iOS software engineers in our Rider and Community Safety organizations:

  • The Rider organization is focused on building a seamless, best-in-class rideshare experience for riders. As an iOS Engineer for Rider, you will focus on incentivizing riders to prefer Lyft by building differentiated features for specific use-cases like travel, commute & social and integrating strategic partners into the Lyft rideshare ecosystem.
  • The Community Safety organization is responsible for ensuring the trust & safety of our community of riders and drivers. We work every day toward building a trusted community, fostering safe interactions, managing unsafe situations, and providing best-in-class support. As a member of our Community Safety team, you will play a critical role in making transportation safer for all.

As an iOS engineer at Lyft, you will work hand in hand with various teams, fostering collaboration and driving innovation to improve our customers’ experience with rideshare.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, deploy, monitor, operate and maintain existing or new elements of our applications
  • Partner with product managers, designers, and other engineering teams to build complex features and products from idea to positive execution
  • Unblock, support and communicate with internal partners to achieve results
  • Write well-crafted, well-tested, readable, and maintainable code
  • Participate in code, product and design reviews to provide feedback to ensure best practices
  • Analyze our internal systems and processes and locate areas for improvement/automation
  • Share your knowledge by giving brown bags, tech talks, and promoting appropriate tech and engineering best practices
  • Identify, triage, debug and resolve issues/bugs across our various applications and platforms
  • Keep up-to-date with iOS and industry developments

Experience:

  • Minimum 3+ years of software engineering industry experience
  • Worked on and shipped large scale iOS applications
  • Experience with Swift
  • Experience with SwiftUI, unit and snapshot testing, and creating shared components
  • Experience with architecture paradigms like unidirectional and reactive programming, and other patterns commonly used in the industry
  • Great product sense; you care about usability and good design
  • Ability to work with a low-ego, highly collaborative, and cross-functional team

This role will be in-office on a hybrid schedule — Team Members will be expected to work in the office 3 days per week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Additionally, hybrid roles have the flexibility to work from anywhere for up to 4 weeks per year. #Hybrid

The expected base pay range for this position in the Toronto area is 108,000 CAD-135,000 CAD. Salary ranges are dependent on a variety of factors, including qualifications, experience and geographic location. Range is not inclusive of potential equity offering, bonus or benefits.
