We're looking for a Software Engineer II to join Procore's AI Division. In this role, you'll own the design, development, and deployment of AI-driven agents that automate construction workflows for our customers. The primary goal of this role is to independently deliver reliable, scalable agentic systems that create measurable value for Procore's customers.

As a Software Engineer II, you'll partner with Product and Design to take agentic features from ambiguous requirements to production. Use your TypeScript,  Python, and LLM application experience to own and ship high-impact workflow automations end-to-end. You'll work with cutting-edge agentic tooling on real production systems that reach thousands of customers—apply today.

This position reports into an Engineering Manager and will be based in our San Francisco office, supporting Procore's Datagrid AI division. This is a hybrid position and will require in office up to 3-5 days a week. We’re looking for someone to join us immediately.

What you'll do:

  • At Procore, AI isn’t a specialized tool, it's a core competency. We expect every team member to be AI-literate, leveraging generative tools and agentic workflows to move faster and work smarter. You won’t just use AI; you’ll be building the agentic future of construction.

  • Own the end-to-end design and delivery of agentic features, from technical scoping through production deployment.

  • Collaborate with Product and Design to translate customer needs into scalable AI agent solutions.

  • Implement and maintain TypeScript and Python codebases for LLM-powered automations with minimal oversight.

  • Write clean, well-tested code and lead code reviews to uphold engineering quality standards across the team.

  • Monitor and troubleshoot production AI systems to proactively ensure reliability and performance.

  • Drive technical decisions by staying current with advancements in agentic frameworks and LLM tooling.

What we're looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 2+ years of experience in software development.

  • Proficiency in TypeScript and Python.

  • Demonstrated experience developing and deploying LLM applications or AI agents in production.

  • Ability to independently scope and execute on complex technical problems with limited guidance.

  • Strong judgment on reliability, scalability, and production quality trade-offs.

  • Clear communication skills and a collaborative approach to cross-functional work.

  • Genuine interest in agentic AI systems and how they can solve real-world problems.
