Job Description:
The Global Network (GNET) team is looking for an SDE 2 to join Remitly
and help scale our funding and disbursement processing across our vast
operational regions, alongside collaborating with other engineers towards
setting a north star technical vision. As an SDE 2, you will bring exciting
features to our customers by contributing to the expansion of our pay-in and
pay-out networks globally. You will help build against a backlog of features
designed to expand our Global Network powering all of Remitly's product
offerings in creative ways.
You Will:
- Develop new partner integrations for our pay-in and pay-out networks, with the possibility of working with partners that support money movements for over 170 countries and growing
- Deliver well-tested, observable, documented, efficient, scalable, and resilient solutions.
- Participate in interviewing, code reviewing, mentoring, and ramping new hires.
- Partner with PM to break down tasks, provide estimates, and discuss tradeoffs
- Partner with Operations team members across the globe to provide technical recommendations for customer-facing problems
- Work with partners around the globe and be a representative of the company and our engineering team to our global partners
- Become an expert with tools, programming languages, and engineering processes used within the GNET team in a scalable cloud-based architecture
- Write technical specifications and participate in design reviews
- Mentor, promote best practices, and push for technical excellence across the company
- Partner closely with your manager and promote the technical direction and roadmap
You Have:
- A degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field or equivalent experience
- 4+ years of building, shipping, and maintaining consumer software products
- 2+ years working with services deployed on a commercial cloud provider like AWS
- General experience migrating legacy services into modernized architecture
- Proficiency in Java, GoLang, or other general purposes languages
- Proficiency in working with large-scale database systems like MySQL, DynamoDB
- Proficiency in working with monitoring systems such as Prometheus and VictoriaMetrics
- General knowledge of technical architecture and system design concepts
- Clear and objective writing and in-person communication
- A desire for learning new technologies and systems
- Payments/Fintech experience - added bonus!
