About the teams
Crypto Pro Trading: Join the Crypto Pro Trading team and help us build the world's leading crypto trading platform to democratize crypto for all. As a Software Engineer, you will develop and maintain backend features and tools that are essential for our professional crypto traders and will directly impact our products, platforms, and operations in the US and EU. Your work will accelerate our growth and have a powerful impact on our trading services and offerings.
Crypto Movements: The Crypto Movements team is building and managing supporting blockchain-interfacing projects at Robinhood. We support crypto transfers, Robinhood Connect, and staking at Robinhood. We aim to be a gateway for customers to interface with crypto in a safe and accessible manner along with providing a frictionless, innovative, and cost-efficient experience that our customers love and have come to expect from us.
Crypto Expansion: The Crypto International team’s mission is to grow a compelling offering for our crypto products internationally. As a Software Developer, you will have a highly visible and impactful role at a relatively small company directly building the core backend services that support our mobile and web applications.
Web3: Our ultimate goal is to be a leader in democratizing access to private and public equity markets by making those assets available on-chain and be tradable 24/7. You will be working with a talented team focused on the project and external teams: Trading Engine, Equity Metadata (symbol name, limits), User Portfolio, Pricing Data.
What you’ll do
- Build scalable systems and components, making the right tradeoffs to account for stability and long-term maintainability.
- Design, write, test, and release product-facing features with stringent correctness and scalability requirements.
- Collaborate with our frontend and data teams to fine tune our REST APIs supporting millions of customers.
- Identify opportunities to improve system performance, team productivity and reduce risk
What you bring
- 3+ years of software development experience.
- Familiarity with writing highly concurrent systems and good intuition for REST API design.
- Proven experience working on large projects with long-term impact on a single system or team.
- Strong technical grasp with excellent judgment on task prioritizations.
- Ability to solve complex engineering problems that deliver results aligned with team objectives.

Base pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. The expected salary range for this role is based on the location where the work will be performed. This role is also eligible to participate in a Robinhood bonus plan and Robinhood’s equity plan.
