Position Overview

As a software developer on the Admin AMS team, your mission will be to reimagine the way that Forma Admin enables user access controls. We are undergoing a transformation in how access and permissions are modelled and evaluated. You will collaborate on a team of excellent engineers to accomplish this mission. In addition to this exciting work, you’ll be part of a group that owns the Tier 1 core APIs that all ACS products depend on, which encompass some of our most critical data sets at ACS. We have some of the largest reach and impact in the organization. The AMS team is responsible for making access controls as flexible and secure as possible.

This is a position to be based out of our Toronto, Montreal or Vancouver offices on a hybrid basis.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and test software features and system components

  • Diagnose and fix bugs, performance bottlenecks, and other system errors

  • Collaborate with a variety of teams in Autodesk Construction Solutions (ACS), both domestic and abroad

  • Take an active role in code reviews & pull requests, get your own code reviewed by the team and become a better developer overall

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS in Computer Science, Engineering or related field; or significant equivalent experience

  • 2+ years of backend and distributed systems engineering experience

  • Experience with SQL/Postgres DB

  • Ability to unblock yourself through tough technical challenges

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to converse fluently with multiple types of audiences ranging from managers, customers, and software developers

  • Ability to convert complex software problems into technical tasks

  • Ability to work well in a remote-friendly distributed team to deliver on team goal

  • Flexibility under changing conditions and ability to multi-task between projects

Responsabilités

  • Concevoir, développer et tester des fonctionnalités logicielles et des composants système

  • Diagnostiquer et corriger les bogues, les goulots d’étranglement au niveau des performances et autres erreurs système

  • Collaborer avec diverses équipes d’Autodesk Construction Solutions (ACS), tant au Canada qu’à l’étranger

  • Jouer un rôle actif dans les revues de code et les pull requests, faire réviser son propre code par l’équipe et s’améliorer globalement en tant que développeur

Qualifications Minimales

  • Licence en informatique, en ingénierie ou dans un domaine connexe ; ou expérience équivalente significative

  • Au moins 2 ans d’expérience en ingénierie backend et en systèmes distribués

  • Expérience avec les bases de données SQL/Postgres

  • Capacité à surmonter les défis techniques complexes

  • Solides compétences en communication, avec la capacité de s’exprimer couramment auprès de publics variés, allant des responsables aux clients en passant par les développeurs logiciels

  • Capacité à traduire des problèmes logiciels complexes en tâches techniques

  • Capacité à travailler efficacement au sein d’une équipe distribuée et favorable au télétravail afin d’atteindre les objectifs de l’équipe

  • Flexibilité face à des conditions changeantes et capacité à mener plusieurs tâches de front entre différents projets

Salary transparency

Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. For Canada based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $88,000 and $128,700. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, our compensation package may include annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
