About the Role
We are looking for a creative and culturally fluent Part-Time Social Media Specialist to join our team in Toronto. In this role, you will own our RedNote, presence end-to-end, from strategy and content creation to community engagement and trend-spotting, with a specific focus on reaching and resonating with the Asian community in Canada.
This is a role for someone who lives and breathes social media, understands the nuances of the Asian-Canadian experience, and can move quickly to create content that feels native to the platform and authentic to the audience.
Key Responsibilities
Content Creation
Production:
Design and produce "scroll-stopping" static notes and short-form videos tailored for RedNote’s food, beauty, and lifestyle niches.
AI Integration
Leverage AI tools ($ChatGPT$, $Midjourney$, $Runway$, $CapCut$) to brainstorm hooks, generate visuals, and accelerate your editing workflow.
Brand Voice
Translate our brand identity into the native "RedNote language", balancing professional quality with the platform’s signature "vlog-style" intimacy.
Account Management
Strategy
Manage the publishing calendar, optimizing for high-traffic windows and keyword SEO within the RedNote algorithm.
Engagement
Be the voice of our brand in the comments and DMs. We don't just "reply", we build relationships and foster community trust.
Analytics
Track metrics to turn raw data into actionable content pivots.
Trend & Culture Intelligence
Stay ahead of RedNote trends, viral formats, hashtags, and content styles , proactively integrating them into the content calendar
Monitor what resonates with Asian-Canadian audiences, including cultural moments, holidays, community conversations, and consumer sentiments
Research and benchmark competitor accounts and top-performing creators in relevant niches
Must-Have Qualifications
▪ Hands-on experience managing a RedNote account, either professionally or as a content creator
▪ Proven ability to produce both static and video content , from concept through to publication
▪ Proficiency in CapCut and familiarity with other editing tools (e.g., Adobe Premiere, InShot, Canva)
▪ Experience using AI tools for content generation, ideation, or editing (e.g., ChatGPT, Midjourney, Runway)
▪ Deep, lived understanding of the Asian community in Canada, its cultural values, daily pain points, spending habits, and aspirations
▪ Fluency in both Mandarin/Cantonese and English , written and spoken
▪ Strong eye for aesthetics; understands what makes content scroll-stopping on RedNote
▪ Self-starter who can manage their own time and hit deadlines with minimal oversight
Nice-to-Have
▪ Existing RedNote following or creator profile in food, beauty, or home categories
▪ Familiarity with other social platforms (Instagram, TikTok, WeChat) to support cross-platform alignment
▪ Background in marketing, communications, digital media, or a related field
