We’re looking for our first full-time Social Media Manager to lead Perplexity’s social media strategy, create high-quality content for an existing audience of passionate users, and find innovative ways to bring Perplexity to new audiences.

You’ve contributed to the rise of a world-class brand before, and are ready to build the next one yourself. With your brand savvy, creative chops, and storytelling skills, you’ll take Perplexity’s social media presence to the next level.

Qualifications

  • You are a pacesetter who others need to keep up with. You stay on top—or ahead— of trends. You think big, move fast, fail gracefully, and learn quickly.
  • You balance creative ideation and exceptional execution. You can take a concept from from initial plan all the way to “send post.”
  • You are a maker with impeccable taste and a natural design sense. You can remix foundational brand elements into a polished deliverable.
  • You are a storyteller across mediums: you can whip up social copy, edit storyboards, and communicate important messaging to our social audience.
  • You are actively tracking the AI universe. You’re up to date on news trends, industry drama, and technical breakthroughs.

Responsibilities

  • Build and execute a strategy across social channels that highlights the Perplexity product, business, community, and team.
  • Lead day-to-day operations across all channels: social calendar management, original content creation, and production coordination.
  • Spearhead the social component of launches/projects alongside our Product, Partnership, Growth, Business, Comms, and Community teams.
  • Partner with our Brand and Design teams to produce beautiful social visuals.
  • Own our core brand channels—X, LinkedIn, and Instagram—from end-to-end.
  • Ideate and experiment on channels that we’ve yet to crack: TikTok and YouTube.

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience growing a brand’s social media presence
  • Your portfolio showcases:
    • Social copywriting that demonstrates your ability to internalize and adapt brand voice to different channels
    • High-quality visual content that you’ve made yourself, or in partnership with designers and creatives
    • Your ability to design and implement social strategy for a major launch, project, or campaign
  • You thrive on a cross-functional team, using strong communication and task management skills to navigate complex projects.
  • You’re familiar with social analytics and reporting. You balance taste and metrics, and leverage data to inform social strategy.
  • You are experienced with creative tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and Figma.

The cash compensation for this role is $90,000 - $120,000.
