JOB SUMMARY

The Videographer/Social Content Editor is responsible for producing high-quality, engaging content across various social media platforms. This role encompasses all aspects of video production, from concept to completion, including visualization, filming, editing, and publishing. With a focus on cinematic brand visuals and industry storytelling, the Videographer/Social Content Editor will also collaborate with broadcast teams and ensure content aligns with marketing strategies. As part of the Racing Content Production team, the position involves working closely with the racing community to capture the essence of the sport and contributing to the brand’s digital presence. Additionally, the Videographer/Social Content Editor will take charge of cross-channel betting content creation, becoming the primary video storyteller and driving production for this key initiative.


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Participate in the development of creative video content tailored for social media, online and broadcast platforms, including Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and National Television.
  • Execute all aspects of video production, including on-location shooting, lighting, and editing to ensure high-quality content across all deliverables. Lead videography of key dates and signature races.
  • Take ownership of key video projects for wagering brand and betting segments. Lead production and execution of weekly content, ensuring timelines are met and quality is maintained.
  • Work collaboratively with the content team to create engaging and shareable video content that reflects current trends and highlights the excitement of horseracing. Lead production and execution of weekly betting segments.
  • Liaise with external broadcast teams to coordinate various logistics, technical requirements and ensure seamless integration of internal projects with broadcast content.
  • Help develop and execute social-first video campaigns, ensuring alignment with broader marketing strategies and brand objectives. Support video campaigns, collaborating with internal teams and external partners when needed.
  • Spearhead the organization, archiving and retrieval of video assets using CAT DV, ensuring the efficient management of assets on Nearline servers and maintaining accurate metadata for quick access and future use.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Operate and maintain professional video equipment, including Sony cinema cameras (FX3, FX6), ensuring high-quality footage for all video content.
  • Demonstrate strong proficiency in video editing using Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects, etc.), applying best practices to create polished and engaging videos.
  • Utilize lighting and camera techniques to capture dynamic shots that enhance the storytelling and energy of the brand.
  • Optimize video content for various platforms (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube) by adjusting format, resolution, and pacing to meet specific platform requirements and trends.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues on set, ensuring smooth production and minimizing disruptions during live events or shoots.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and new technologies to ensure video production is always innovative and of the highest quality.
  • 5+ years of experience working in social media content creation, video production, or a similar role within a fast-paced, creative environment.
  • Advanced Drone Pilot’s License with knowledge of regulations and operating skills.
  • Strong understanding of social media trends, platform algorithms, and best practices for video content.
  • Strong knowledge of lighting techniques, camera movements, and framing to produce dynamic, high-quality footage.
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms, including emerging trends and their best practices (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, etc.).
  • Comfortable working with content calendars and managing content schedules to meet deadlines.
  • Highly organized, able to juggle multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexible and reactive to changing priorities, especially in a dynamic, live-event setting.
  • A team player with the ability to develop strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders while working independently when needed.
  • Highly creative with a strong eye for video aesthetics and narrative storytelling.
  • Ability to think outside the box and develop fresh, engaging content that resonates with audiences.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams and with external partners.
  • Deep understanding of best practices and standards for National Television Broadcasts.

Salary range: The target hiring salary range for this position is $60,000 to $70,000 CAD. This range is not a guarantee of compensation. Final placement within the range depends on factors such as internal equity, market conditions, and the candidate’s experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
