Project Scope & Learning Objectives

The intern will work on real, active proposal projects (RFPs, RFIs, RFQs) and will gain practical exposure to how enterprise and public-sector IT proposals are developed from start to finish.

Key learning objectives include:

  • Understanding the end-to-end proposal lifecycle

  • Translating technical solutions into clear, client-focused responses

  • Learning compliance, structuring, and evaluation criteria in proposals

  • Developing professional technical writing and coordination skills

Key Project Responsibilities
  • Contribute to assigned proposal writing projects under mentor guidance

  • Draft sections such as technical approaches, service descriptions, implementation methodologies, and staffing models

  • Participate in proposal review sessions and incorporate feedback

  • Support the creation of compliance matrices and response outlines

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Sales, Engineering, Operations, HR) to gather inputs

  • Assist in maintaining proposal templates, content libraries, and best practices

Mentorship & Support
  • Assigned a dedicated mentor with experience in technical proposals

  • Regular check-ins and feedback sessions to support learning and progress

  • Guided exposure to proposal strategy, win themes, and evaluation scoring

  • Coaching on professional writing, stakeholder communication, and time management

Ideal Candidate Profile
  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from Engineering, IT, Business, Communications, or Technical Writing programs

  • Strong interest in IT services, proposal management, or consulting

  • Solid written communication and analytical skills

  • Comfortable working on-site in a structured, collaborative environment

  • Detail-oriented with a willingness to learn and accept feedback

Tools & Skills Developed
  • Technical proposal writing and compliance analysis

  • Exposure to IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, cloud, and managed services

  • Professional documentation standards (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint)

  • Stakeholder collaboration in a real business environment

Program Outcomes

By the end of the project, the intern will have:

  • Contributed to live proposal submissions

  • Built a practical portfolio of proposal work

  • Gained mentorship-backed experience applicable to roles in consulting, proposal management, technical writing, or sales engineering
