The Role

The Product Design team is comprised of a group of system thinkers who have deep empathy for our customers (home owners, dealers/partners, and installers).

We are looking for a Senior Product Designer to join our energy technology platform team! You'll work on a cross-functional team building products where intelligent energy technology devices, systems and user interaction meet. The best part? You'll be the person who makes that feel coherent, purposeful, and beautifully simple. You'll own design systems work: contributing patterns and shaping the system itself to drive adoption across product teams. This is a role for someone who thrives at the intersection of systems-level thinking and high visual craft.

This is a hybrid position that requires onsite work from our Toronto office on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

What You'll Do
  • Mobile experience. Design confidently for iOS and Android, with a strong fluency in each platform's native conventions, patterns, and expectations.

  • Partner closely with Product, Engineering, and Research. Influencing roadmap decisions with design thinking and translating ambiguous problems into clear direction.

  • Drive user research, usability testing, and rapid prototyping to validate assumptions early and iterate quickly on what matters most.

  • Connect information across product surfaces and teams to ensure users experience a coherent, unified product, not a collection of features.

  • Design AI product experiences. Including generative interfaces, agentic workflows, and adaptive surfaces, in ways that feel trustworthy, legible, and human.

  • Contribute meaningfully to our design system with accessibility standards in mind. Extending patterns, raising the bar for visual consistency, and building shared libraries that scale across teams. Champion inclusive design and embed accessibility into design system foundations so that every team designer inherits good decisions by default.

  • Working with other designers. Actively participate in design critiques, sharing work early and often, and offer thoughtful, constructive feedback to peers.

What We're Looking For

Core requirements

  • 5+ years of product design experience, with a portfolio demonstrating strong visual design, interaction craft, and shipped products at scale.

  • Experience designing for AI-powered products, or a strong point of view on how AI capabilities should be integrated into product experiences thoughtfully and responsibly.

  • Systems thinking. You see beyond individual screens and consider how flows, patterns, mental models, and business logic connect into a unified experience.

  • High visual design aptitude. You have an intentional design voice and can produce polished, pixel-precise work that elevates the product.

  • Excellent communication skills. You can clearly articulate design decisions to engineers, PMs, and executives while using storytelling skills

  • Proficiency in Figma, including component architecture, auto-layout, variables, and prototyping for complex interactions.

Nice to have

  • Background in UX research or experience running discovery sprints and synthesizing qualitative insights.

  • Familiarity with AI coding tools like Claude Code to quickly explore interaction idea and better communicate with engineering.

  • Prior experience at a fast-growing startup or within a design-led, product-driven organization.

  • Experience with motion design and designing meaningful, purposeful animations.
