Driveline is an in-memory append-only database tailored for fast ingestion, analytical queries, and low in-memory foot-print.
This is a unique opportunity to contribute to one of the most critical platforms at Datadog. This platform offers Live Search features to critical products like Logs Management and APM. What You'll Do:

  • Building and operating query execution engines, working on query parsing and planning, optimization and operators
  • Dive deep into the query language design and syntax to build new language features to meet user needs.
  • Build fault-tolerant, horizontally scalable solutions running in multi-tenant environments
  • Write in C++ and Go
  • Own meaningful parts of our service, have an impact, grow with the company


Who You Are:

  • You have a BS/MS/PhD in a scientific field or equivalent experience
  • You have significant backend programming experience in one or more languages (Go, Rust, C++)
  • Interest or experience with query processing and/or database internals
  • You have been exposed to working on problems (high durability / low latency /...)
  • You can get down to the low-level when needed
  • You care about simple designs and performance
  • You want to work in a fast, high-growth startup environment that respects its engineers and customers

Datadog offers a competitive salary and equity package, and may include variable compensation. Actual compensation is based on factors such as the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience. $187,000 - $240,000 USD
