We are looking for an experienced Backend Software Engineer to join our team and help us revolutionize the way people move around our cities. As a key member of our team, you’ll have the opportunity to design and build the core technology that powers our fleet of connected vehicles. With our rapid global expansion, you’ll play a vital role in crafting backend systems that are core to the Lime offering including location and asset data analysis, and experimentation. You will also have the chance to contribute to our internal messaging platform. And the best part? The ideal candidate will have experience working in an evolving startup environment. You will be an in the moment problem solver with the ability to think about the short term and long term plan. You're energized about building and scaling and being part of a forward-thinking organization.

This is a remote position with a requirement for candidates residing in Canada to maintain effective collaboration across teams.

What you’ll do:

  • Identify, define, and solve strategically essential technical problems, including architecting and building highly scalable foundational platforms and revamping existing core application experiences.

  • Scrutinize and reason clearly about the technology and architecture we make.

  • Building scalable, efficient, and stable software to power our electric vehicles and related features.

  • Participate in cross-functional collaboration with PMs, Engineers, Design, Data Scientists, Research, and Operations teams.

  • Advise Lime’s leadership team on key technology adoption and process improvements.

  • Contribute to shaping the overall engineering culture at the company.

About you:

  • 5+ years of industry professional software development experience and a track record of building impactful products or systems.

  • Skilled at writing logical and maintainable code, and providing clear feedback in code reviews.

  • Customer obsessed. You put the customer first.

  • Data driven. You have a strong data insight and rely on data to make decisions.

  • Owner’s mindset. You’re a self-starter and get things across the finish line.

  • Outcomes oriented. You focus on impact.

  • Technical proficiency to understand and contribute to the design and implementation of projects and ideas.

  • Passionate. You’re passionate about Lime’s mission and micromobility; you want to see cities transform to become people-centric and less polluted.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in IoT-connected devices

  • Experience with Ruby or Go

The salary range listed reflects what Lime reasonably expects to offer for this role, with the final base salary determined by factors such as the candidate’s location and relevant skills and experience. Depending on the position, the total compensation package may also include discretionary annual performance bonus opportunities and equity, subject to applicable plan terms and eligibility requirements.
